Baked Cinnamon Toast
Hillsboro House Bed and Breakfast
Nashville, Tennessee
2/3 cup sugar
4 tsp. cinnamon
1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, melted
6 1/2" thick slices homemade bread, crusts removed, each slice cut into 4 strips
In a wide, shallow bowl, stir together sugar and cinnamon. Working with 1 strip of bread at a time, turn strips quickly in butter, coating them on all sides, letting any excess drip off, then turn them quickly in cinnamon-sugar, coating them on all sides. Bake strips in lightly buttered jellyroll pan in upper third of a preheated 375 degree oven for 10 minutes. Turn and bake 10 more minutes. Transfer with tongs to serving plate. Makes 24 pieces.

If you could have witnessed any event from your family's history, what would it have been?

9445
I feel inspired to sing ...
Out of my window, looking in the night
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:26 PM
9446
I can see those barges' flickering lights
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:27 PM
9447
Starboard turns north and heads out to the sea
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:27 PM
9448
And the barges do go silently
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:28 PM
9449
Barges ... I would like to go with you
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:28 PM
9450
I would like to sail the ocean blue
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:29 PM
9451
Barges, have you treasures in your hold?
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:30 PM
9452
Do you fight with pirates brave and bold?
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:30 PM
9453
Gotta love camp songs!
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:31 PM
9454
I wish I were an oscar meyer weiner
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:32 PM
9455
That is what I'd really like to be ..e....e
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:33 PM
9456
Cause if I were an oscar meyer weiner
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:33 PM
9457
Everyone would be in love with me!
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:34 PM
9458
Second verse ...
I know a weiny man
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:34 PM
9459
He owns a weiny stand
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:35 PM
9460
He sells most anything from hot dogs on down
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:36 PM
9461
Someday I'll change his life
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:37 PM
9462
I'll be his weiny wife
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:37 PM
9463
Hot dog! I love that weiny man!!!
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:39 PM
9464
If there were witchcraft
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:39 PM
9465
I'd make two wishes
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:40 PM
9466
A winding road that beckons me to roam
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:41 PM
9467
And then I'd wish for a blazing camp fire
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:42 PM
9468
To welcome me when I'm returning home
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:42 PM
9469
But in this real world ... there is no witchcraft
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:43 PM
9470
And golden wishes do not grow on trees
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:44 PM
9471
Our fondest daydreams must be the magic
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:45 PM
9472
To bring us back ... these golden memories
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:45 PM
9473
Memories that linger ...
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:46 PM
9474
Constant and true ...
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:46 PM
9475
Memories we cherish ...
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:47 PM
9476
Pixies ... of ... you ....
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:48 PM
9477
Mmm Hmm I wanna linger
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:49 PM
9478
Mmm Hmm A little longer
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:50 PM
9479
Mmm Hmm A little longer here with you
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:51 PM
9480
Mmm Hmm It's such a perfect night
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:51 PM
9481
Mmm Hmm It doesn't seem quite right
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:52 PM
9482
Mmm Hmm That it should be my last with you
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:53 PM
9483
Mmm Hmm and come September
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:54 PM
9484
Mmm Hmm I will remember
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:54 PM
9485
Mmm Hmm long lasting days and friendships true
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:55 PM
9486
Mmm Hmm and as the years go by
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:56 PM
9487
Mmm Hmm I'll think of you and sigh
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:56 PM
9488
Mmm Hmm this is goodnight and not goodbye
Vicious Tease
07-16-2003, 07:57 PM
