First thing to piss me off was a reaction to one of my meds, felt like my upper body was on fire, then doused with itching powder...2nd was when I started to mow the yard, I hit a big-ass rock which bent the right-hand blade down, and didn't notice it was scalping the grass until my 2nd pass around...& the mf'er is too big for me lift up & get at the damaged blade to repair or replace, & the yard looks really fucked up now, & it's the

front yard

so everybody driving by can see what a crappy landscaper I am...

The same place sells two or more different sizes of coffee or pizza or milk shakes, but they only have "large" and "medium" and "super size". How fucking stupid are they to insult my intelligence and think that naming their smallest size, "medium", is going to cause me to think I got something more and will be happy about the confusing ordering with people that they make look like idiots. :banghead:

Yes, that's the conclusion I came to, too.

Unfortunately that leaves me enjoying my 1st baby-free weekend since he was born home alone with no husband (he'll be with the baby) no friends (they're all busy) and no car to go off and do something interesting by myself. I didn't think a lot of it but after I got my stuff paid for I noticed she was standing there with her walker and the cart right in front of the exit. A couple of employees looked at her and walked on by, one did wish her Happy Holidays. Nobody offered to help her. I couldn't f-ing believe it!

A while back we had a discussion about the energy savings/reduced greenhouse gas advantages of switching to compact flourescent bulbs vs. the environmental effects of disposing of millions of flourescent bulbs containing mercury...I wanna save money & reduce my carbon footprint as much as anybody, but I'm concerned about ground contamination too. Yesterday I checked out our local waste/recycling centers' website, & was pleased to find that they do accept flourescent tubes AND CFs as "hazardous materiels", to be disposed of in a safe manner. I load up the Dodge with some other junk & a few tubes that had given their all (my basement is nearly 100% flourescent lighting), drove to east Nash., where they told me to dump the computer monitor at the hazMat shed, & told me to dump the tubes...

You can export favorites into a file and then import them back after you've done what you want. (To save the exported file, dump it to a CD) I did that when I got my current machine. Exported my favorites ... then dumped them to a CD (really miss floppies for something like this :( ) ... the imported them onto my current machine. :) Worked good.

Mr DB, the new floppies are called thumbsticks, now cheaply up to 8gig.

locked outside, punched from the inside. it's just the one door - one of the sliders on the van - but it's the side with the baby's car seat, and we were in a hurry to leave so i didn't have time to switch it out. it was a bit of a pain in the back to reach over the other captain's chair to get her seat into the base. it's switched now, but now that means the boy is behind my seat and he LOVES to kick the back of my chair.

water coming from who knows where in the bathroom. My speculation is the roof. *grrr!*

PantyFanatic
03-07-2008, 08:21 PM
That is the one room with the most options for water sources. Where is is showing up?

maddy
03-07-2008, 08:45 PM
On the counter top and the floor .. inside the cabinet and under the exterior edge of the cabinet. The water in that bathroom hasn't been used in about a week... the house is vacant. I don't think it's a spill from a week ago as it would be dried up. I suspect the roof is leaking and the water is coming down the wall studs.

One of the cabinet doors is warped which I think is from an over time leak... and the paint is peeling from the cabinet and the base board. I'll be calling someone, I don't know who yet to see if they can come take a look on Monday.

Oh, and I'll try to get in the attic tomorrow.

PantyFanatic
03-07-2008, 08:57 PM
If it's actually accumulating on the counter top, I'd crawl underneath with a flashlight to look at the faucet before I crawled into an attic hatch. (assuming a single story house)

A CLOSE inspection of the wall just above should show some sign if it is coming from above. Water seldom makes 90 degree turns if there is more wall stud below as an option.

PantyFanatic
03-07-2008, 09:03 PM
Another option, if it is still raining, is to close the valves (being vacant ;) ) to the faucet, dry everything with paper towels first then toilet paper, then check with the flashlight in a day.

Alas, the computer gremlins are being overly evil and my computer pretty much does whatever it wants.
