Do you think physical fitness is an important criteria for someone you date?

IowaMan
12-04-2006, 05:42 PM
To a certain extent. They don't have to be a workout junkie or anything but I probably wouldn't be attracted to someone who just let themselves go to pot.

Does the amount of education someone has figure into whether or not you would be interested in them romantically?

osuche
12-04-2006, 11:40 PM
Yes, and no. The person needs to be intelligent and desire learning. They also have to hold down a job. :) Do they have to have a PhD? Nope.

You?

IowaMan
12-05-2006, 01:15 AM
No, not really. I've never really been overly concerned about a ladies education level. As long as we can have good conversation I'm pretty content.

Do you believe in astrology?

Coaster
12-05-2006, 01:19 AM

Are you athletic?

IowaMan
12-05-2006, 07:08 AM

What is the first part of the newspaper that you read?

Roughly how much or what percentage of your computer, desktop or laptop, is full of or dedicated to porn/erotica?

IowaMan
12-05-2006, 04:15 PM
The only times I can recall having it in a sitting position (other than while trying to stay in while flipping around on the bed) would be while I was driving. Can't say I didn't enjoy it but it was tough to keep driving.

Do you like The Three Stooges?

osuche
12-05-2006, 11:58 PM
Yep, but I like Abbott and Costello better. But you knew that. :p

Do you always tell the truth?

IowaMan
12-06-2006, 06:27 AM
I don't know that anybody can honestly claim to *always* tell the truth but I do my best. Lies always have a way of coming back to bite you in the ass so I figure may as well lay the truth out there and see what happens.

Have you ever tried to trace back your ancestors and put together a family tree?

dicksbro
12-06-2006, 06:30 AM
I did and got quite a ways before my old computer crashed and I lost what I'd done. I'd take a backup, but it ended up not being readable. :(

HYE been to New Mexico?

IowaMan
12-06-2006, 06:56 AM
Yeah, but just driving through on my way home from roadtrips to California a couple of times. Loved Albuquerque and met a really interesting group of folks from Maine in Tucumcari.

You ever take off on a cross country roadtrip?

Does Ohio to CA count? Or WA to OH? Done those several times. And I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Have you ever bought a stranger a present?

IowaMan
12-06-2006, 11:21 AM

Do you like to work with children?

osuche
12-06-2006, 12:54 PM

How well done do you like your steak? (if you eat steak, that is)

dicksbro
12-06-2006, 08:23 PM
Usually medium to medium well. Used to eat my steaks a little more rare, but I've changed a bit in the past few years. Matter-of-fact, we're going to get together with some friends next week for brunch and I'll probably go for my normal ribeye. Yummy.

How often do you go to movies during the year?

Any secret talents you would be willing to divulge to us all? :D

Irezumi Kiss
12-10-2006, 04:20 PM
My one real talent, which is art, isn't a secret at all! I have a dubious talent for drinking all night long but that isn't much of a secret, either!

ironhide
12-10-2006, 07:28 PM
I used to give pocket change or a buck or two to the homeless in my younger days but after a few bad encounters with them not that im generalizing not all homeless are bums/scuzzoids. I have had a few ask for not just spare change but serious money like hey man can you spare a twenty? What the hell?? is that I usually just give them a buck or two or if they aren't too pushy ill give em a smoke one less to kill me

In this day in age it's scary to help them cause you know you want to truly help out in your heart of hearts but on the other side of that coin. God only knows what they will do with it eat, get high, get drunk, thats why i always tell em that the church I belong to runs a no questions asked shelter to help out it's non profit federally funded and doesn't require them to convert to catholosisim sorry bout the spelling there whew. and I try to be polite always but sometimes you gotta say no.

If given the choice do you shop someplace like Wal Mart because of the price or do you go to the mom & pop store?

dicksbro
01-05-2007, 09:21 AM
I like the smaller stores and use them quite a bit ... but I suppose most of our shopping is done at the large chain stores.

Do you look for name brand clothes or do you look for similar items at a lower price?

IowaMan
01-05-2007, 09:36 AM
Sort of depends what I'm shopping for. I can't ever recall buying a pair of jeans that wasn't Levi's. Well, other than the "Toughskins" mom got for me when I was a wee IowaLad. I've been known for stumble across a shirt or something at K-Mart or Target that I liked and bought it though. I'll go to an outlet mall if I'm going on a big time clothes shopping spree.

dicksbro
01-06-2007, 05:22 AM
Yesterday. Went for a ride and then stopped in E. Peoria and ended up taking some pictures of the Peoria skyline. Actually, this is three pictures merged into a panarama.

The picture started at several meg (5487x1809 pixels) which I reduced down to under 100K so I could upload it. It's really huge. :)

What's the last thing you took a picture of?

IowaMan
01-06-2007, 06:07 AM
Great picture Dicksbro! :thumb:

Last thing I took a picture of was my dog.

Do you go to a video store to rent movies or do it thru the mail?

dicksbro
01-06-2007, 07:43 AM
A local video store. They seem to carry a good selection. We buy a lot of DVDs, too. I remember when we got our first VCR ... "movies" cost $70 or more ... now, Wally World the first week of a new DVD sells them at under $15 (goes to $20 the next week).

IowaMan
01-06-2007, 08:13 AM

Are you enjoying this warm winter?

IowaMan
01-06-2007, 08:29 PM
Yeah, I guess so. My house is old and really not energy efficient. Won't get new windows and siding installed until spring so at least the warmer weather is helping a bit with the heating bill. It really doesn't feel like winter though.

Have you got an idea of what you may do for a summer vacation in '07?

dicksbro
01-07-2007, 06:46 AM

How about you? What are your plans?

IowaMan
01-07-2007, 07:07 AM
Actually, I've got a couple of destinations planned for road trips. California to see my folks (and hopefully then up the coast to the Bay Area), Texas to see my sister, and if all goes right maybe a trip to see a friend in the Volunteer State. Hmmmm, I-74 would seem to be a good route to start with for that one. ;)

Do you have all the winter maintenance done on your car(s) that you'd like to have done?

dicksbro
01-08-2007, 04:31 AM

Do you like it best when the threads are really busy with lots of folks posting, or, when it's quieter and you have a thread pretty much to yourself?

IowaMan
01-10-2007, 07:43 AM
I like both but busy lets you learn more about more people. Can get a bit "interesting" when "Wake up next to" or "kissing" dicksbro or Coaster though. :D On those days I wish for a bit of calm.

Do you see your doctor on a "regular" basis or do you only go in when there is something wrong?

IAKaraokeGirl

Do you plan big celebrations on your birthday?

dicksbro
01-11-2007, 11:44 AM
No, not for me. My wife planned a big party for me when I turned 60 and totally fooled me. I thought she was helping some ladies arrange furniture at a local place and asked for my help ... it was a ruse to get me to attend. Totally surprised.

It was really nice, but, like I said, I could have forgotten it and it wouldn't have really bothered me at all.

Does it matter to you if presents are wrapped or not?

osuche
01-11-2007, 12:49 PM
Not really...wrapped adds to the anticipation. However, I rarely wrap mine so I understand if others don't either.

IowaMan
01-11-2007, 01:02 PM

Did you have a hero when you were a kid?

dicksbro
01-11-2007, 07:04 PM
Several, I guess. My dad was a hero to me as well as people like Generals MacArthur and Eisenhower. Johnny Unitas was a football hero. I had a couple of uncles that I kind of place in that category as well.

How about you, did you have a hero as a kid?

osuche
01-11-2007, 07:05 PM
No, not really. I never knew anyone well enough to respect them as a hero. I did, however, have several teachers I was quite fond of.

If you had to go back to school to do a PhD, what would you major in?

IowaMan

Have you ever told a sexual fib?

IowaMan
01-12-2007, 07:42 AM
Yeah, I think all young guys do. Supposedly I lost my virginity when I was 13 or 14 to "a girl from another school." I guess that kind of stuff is more a flat out lie than a fib though huh? :(

The first time you had sex it was great.

dicksbro
01-12-2007, 06:26 PM
Great ... well ... maybe not. Certainly exciting because it was "the first time," but not as great.

Which of your relatives lives furthest away from you and where are they located?

dicksbro
01-13-2007, 08:17 AM

How close does the nearest of your relatives live.

IowaMan
01-13-2007, 08:52 AM
Technically about a block and a half. A lady here in town contacted me when I moved back here last May and come to find out she is a cousin I never knew I had. I've got a step-aunt/uncle in Hamilton, Illinois which isn't all that far from me. Probably 170 miles or so?

dicksbro
01-20-2007, 07:23 PM

I use photo's that I either take or download from the net.

How about you? How much time do you spend on the internet a day?

IowaMan
01-21-2007, 06:47 AM
Way too much. Probably right in that same ballpark DB. Sometimes more but rarely less. :yikes:

Salacious

IowaMan
01-31-2007, 06:04 AM
uh oh, I'm going to post this one and go running for cover. If I'm going all out I'll go with spicy mustard, onions and relish. I'll usually grab for some celery salt too. And probably 9 times out of 10 no matter what else I've got on it already........................ ketchup. *IowaMan runs to beat the devil for cover*

Do you like salsa to be really hot or do you go for the more mild variety?

dicksbro
01-31-2007, 07:01 AM
The warm side of mild. Typically, I'll use about 2/3 mild and 1/3 hot salsa.

(BTW, you're hot dog sounded pretty good to me.)

Do you put whipped cream on pie?

IowaMan
01-31-2007, 07:11 AM
I guess I never really gave it much thought but usually the only pie I have whipped cream with is pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving or Christmas. Otherwise I'm more of an ice cream kind of guy. Unless it's banana cream then I'll just take the whole thing and dive in like I'm in a pie eating contest at the county fair. :D

Do you avoid going outside at pretty much all costs when the temp gets down around zero (F)?

dicksbro
01-31-2007, 07:18 AM

IowaMan

Do you skip breakfast more often than not?

Miss-Honey-Bee
02-01-2007, 07:22 AM
Guilty. I'm not eating much at the moment at all, not hungry, always the same after that cursed week.

I never have time for breakfast anyway, I get up as late as possible, shower etc and go straight to college.

You adore breakfast in bed. x

IowaMan
02-01-2007, 07:25 AM
You know what, it's been so long since I've had the pleasure of sharing a bed with a lady that I forget what breakfast in bed is like. I'd feel sort of strange making it and just having the one person in bed eating it.

Do you like to cook?

IAKaraokeGirl
02-01-2007, 08:37 AM
Yes, although I don't have as much time for it as I wish I did. When I do cook, though, I'm usually well-complimented.

IowaMan

What's your favorite soft drink?

IAKaraokeGirl
02-01-2007, 10:27 PM
Well, if I'm being good, then it's Diet Dr. Pepper. If not, Sprite or Pepsi.

What thoughts keep you awake at night (generalities are okay)?

IowaMan
02-01-2007, 10:33 PM
Hi IAKG  (That's not what keeps me awake, just saying hi.)

Well, usually it's something to do with health, money or the hope of finding true love.

Same question for you.

dicksbro
02-02-2007, 05:23 AM
Worrying about our kids when they're having any difficulties (health, finances, or whatever).

Same question one more time.

IowaMan
02-04-2007, 08:39 AM
The last few nights it has been thoughts of if/when my cystic fibrosis is going to cause me to have liver problems and diabetes to go along with the lung and digestive problems I've already got. And I'm wondering if I'll be strong enough to fight it when it does happen.

What's your favorite movie?

IowaMan
02-06-2007, 04:57 PM

Did or do you have any favorite aunts and uncles?

IowaMan
02-10-2007, 08:13 AM

Do you remember your first "real" kiss?

IowaMan
02-27-2007, 02:36 AM

Have you ever designed a home for yourself and had it subsequently built?

IowaMan
03-09-2007, 06:38 AM

Do you usually remember your dreams when you wake up?

ReaperWoman
03-09-2007, 10:48 AM
Sometimes. Occasionally I write them down as soon as I wake up to remember them. It's fun looking back on them later, jogging your memoruy of all the weird things.

1nutworld
03-09-2007, 10:55 AM
