TOM FORD's latest sensational Gucci ad will feature a naked woman whose bikini line has been waxed into the shape of a 'G'. The ad, shot by Mario Testino, will appear in the February issue of fashion magazines and is the latest in a line of images that reveal Ford's penchant for nudity in advertising. You will remember that his first ad for YSL, which starred Sophie Dahl wearing nothing but a pair of gold heels and a spritz of Opium fragrance, was banned by the Advertising Standards Association. His more recent offering for the YSL M7 men's fragrance, which featured a full frontal picture of a nude man, had to be cropped at the waist by most of the world's leading fashion magazines. According to Women's Wear Daily, the latest ad is already going the same way. (January 7 2003, AM)
