Well, nearly at the end of the ones I feel are good enough to show you all. These few highlight the true deprivation some people live in - you'll notice amongst all the boarded up flats (apartments) an occasional "clear" window; people still live in those ones. Amazing, huh?

The first two in this set were just to help "set the scene" really - effective shots, but still a bit depressing (which was the whole point of the exercise, remember!) Number three is of a pub, which has appeared in a movie called "Red Road".

Btw, the movie is very good - if it ever makes it to the States, try and see it.

...of these last two, the first is of the foot of the Red Road tower block. If you look close, you'll see all the crap folk throw out of their windows.

The second (and LAST!!!) is of what used to be a local sports arena & swimming pool building. It is what we call here a "listed building", which basically means it can't be knocked down even though it's dangerous, and no-one wants to take it over and renovate it.

Very sad, really, as it's a lovely building.

Well, that's it. I hope those of you who've looked have enjoyed my little tour of where I work, and maybe understand why, sometimes, I may seem a bit "down"!!

Ah and to think we live in a so called fiest world country yet we have such slum housing in some area's! Did like the one with the sky TV Dish. Just shows even junkies/squaters need their Football fix only sky can give!

Smithy ~ it won't surprise you to learn every flat in that block had a dish outside. As did virtually all the others in all the other blocks. Just goes to show you....... something!

IowaMan ~ it would indeed be something to see. It's not like the know-how isn't available - just the cash!
