Did spring explode for you this year? It is now expanding for me with most everything lush and green for the past week. Two weeks ago, the nude gray and brown sticks of winter matched most of man’s structures. The drab colors were everywhere, in spite of the fact one of our mildest winters ever was drawing to an end. It was not a single spike of temperature that launched the transition as both air and ground averaged considerably above the norm.
The bulbs, corms and tubers are the first to push through the crinkled leaves of a year past with Tulips, Daffodils, hyacinths and crocuses often poking through the snow in my area. THEN!.......... within a few days, all the trees and shrubs turn first a light green hue and by the hours become a true green. Did this seem to happen at an accelerated rate for you this year? The traditional blooming of spring appeared to occur within 72 hours this season. From basic winter to full blown spring in three days.

I am LOVING spring!! Central Florida where I'm from is nothing to get excited about. Living now in north Georgia is just one breath-taking scene after another. Everywhere we go it's like were in the country and the flowers and trees are just amazing. the best was when the purple Wisteria popped up all over the place. It only lasted a little over a week and my Sweetie captured them on their most perfect day with his camera. :)

Well....it never got blah here...so Spring wasn't as stunning either. :(
PF ... not just the Lixy gene ... but you got pretty close to poetic as well ... here it's green all year round, but at the end of spring the ice plants go into bloom and hillsides everywhere are covered in this beautiful pinky-purple color ... it hasn't happened here just yet, but should be happening any day now ... as soon as we have a few non-cloudy days in a row ... and then the bougan villa (sp??) usually start blooming soon afterward and rows of bushes/trees will be in the bright fuschia color (as well as other colors) ... I love all the colors ... if it were anything other than nature, it might be garish ... but never that when it happens naturally! :)

Lilacs, tulips, apple and crab apple trees are in full fragrant bloom. I have gotten to mow the lawn 2x and right now i am still loving the smell of freshly mown grass. Yes Alelujah! Spring has Sprung in this part of the northern hemisphere!
Have I ever mentioned that my most favorite color is GREEN?!?! As a bio geek, all the green gets my nerdy juices flowing, as well as my horny juices too :wink :wink To me, Green means life.

Lyrics originally by Aerosmith, reworded by Lizz
Green - it's my new obsession
Green - it's not even a question,
Green - on the lips of your lover
(oh)
'CauseGreen is the love you discover
Green - as the bing on your cherry
Green - 'cause you are so very
Green - it's the color of passion
Ah, 'cause today it just goes with the fashion
Green - it was love at first sight
Yeah,Green - when I turn out the light
And Green gets me high as a kite
And I think everything is going to be all right
No matter what we do tonight
You could be my flamingo
'Cause Green- it's the new kinda of lingo
Green - like a deco umbrella
It's kink that you don't ever tell her
Green - it was love at first sight
And Green when I turn out the light
Green gets me high as a kite
And I think everything is going to be all right
No matter what we do tonight
Yeah!
I want to be your lover
I, I wanna wrap you in rubber
And it's Green as the sheets that we lay on
'Cause Green - it's my favorite crayon
Yeah!Green - it was love at first sight
Green - when I turn out the light
Green - it's like blue but not quite
And I think, everything is going to be all right
No matter what we do tonight

The neighborhood looks SO MUCH nicer now that the houses have flowers out and the trees have leaves.
