I just watched Shaun of the Dead and found it hillarious  If you can stand all the gore and blood you should check it out.

Lilith,
If you have not yet seen The Birdcage, and are looking for good acting & dialog, Hackman & Williams are well worth the rental.

I watched both Birdcage and a screen adaption of La Cage... last week even. I agree good stand bys.
Oldfart~ I loved the record albums :p
I think I am the only person that liked the move...Rat Race.
John Lovitz was hilarious in it. Little things happened to him in the movie that led up to a side splitting scene....

Speaking of rentals. When I was in Fla recently,we didn't have a TV connection, for one week. There was a VCR hooked up to the TV.I had some pre-recorded tapes, but went to Blockbuster,to rent some more. The Melbourne
Blockbuster, only has DVDs now.I just thought that I would tell everyone.I have,aDVD & a VCR in NH,but NO DVD as yet in Fla! Irish

Lilith,
You may want to consider classics like 2001: A Space Odyssey & Citizen Kane.

Lilith, I would recomend The Governess.1997 with Minnie Driver. Not really sexual, but in my opinion it is a very erotic movie.I think you would like it.

Your thread caused me to google a true sleeper I stumbled upon a few years ago at a local non-chain store. The Red Tent (http://entertainment.msn.com/movies/movie.aspx?m=89200) is a spaghetti production with Sean Connery that I never heard of before or since. If you’re interested in a movie that every gender and age of the family will find their asses being creased by the edge of their chair, this will do it.;)

The original Highlander movies with Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery :)

I recommend Memento, which is one of my all-time favorite movies, and Secretary, which is also good.
