recently I was on a road trip and I was playing a game with my kids with License plates I live in Maryland besides our basic license plate we have what I call 2 "vanity" plates one for the water wildlife and one for the farms what state do you live in and how many license plates does your state offer

In the Wildlife Conservation collection you can have a hummingbird, Ducks Unlimited, a duck, two different turkey pictures, a deer,or two different fish pictures. Then you have the "Our Heritage" tag with farm animals on it. There is an "I Care for Animals" tag, and a Nascar one. You can get specialized tags form any one of our 6 universities, and the different branches of the military, firefighters and law enforcement.
Man, I never realized Mississippi had such a choice for tags. I like my regular one with a magnolia on it :)

Very little in the way of choice here!! :(

Basic plates are white with Black lettering at the front, and yellow with Black lettering at the back!! You're allowed a (small) national or EU flag on the left end of the plate........ and that's about it!! Boring, or what?!?!?!

'course, you can get all kinds of "fonts", diferent types of backgrounds; problem is, if the cops have had a bad day, they'll pull you and give you a ticket!! Feckers!! :(

This is an example of what you are allowed..... bo-o-o-ring!!

You pick a side of the car...left or right. You add up all the cows you pass by that are on your side (rough estimate) but each time a graveyard is on your side all your cows die and you have to start fresh. Good game for a long trip.

Well, West Virginia has a few...but it hasn't been updated...there's a new wildlife plate and NASCAR plates for about 12 different drivers and a plain NASCAR one.

Also in Illinois is one for the Wildlife Prairie Park west of Peoria; one for the Morton Pumpkin Festival; one for Veterans; one for Purple Heart winners; and one for the University of Illinois.

A friend of ours, who's also a police officer, said the cops hate these plates because it's hard to remember which are valid Illinois plates.

Maybe we ought to design a PIXIES PLATE. Valid in all states and countries; only the players change :D :D

N.H. has many, but my wife& my buddy have vanity plates.
My wife is a HUGE NASCAR fan.Hers is BOOGIDY!
My long time riding buddy,is nicknamed "Animal".His motorcycle
plate is ANML.
I,personaly, never liked vanity plates. It stems from my younger
"hell raising"days.I just thought that it would make you more
identifyable to the cops.
Now I don't care. It's nice to have the phone ring and awnser it not wondering what the cops want you for this time.
One of the benifits of NO alcohol.June15,2003 was 11yrs! Irish
P.S.One son-in law loves A.C.-D.C.His truck plate is Black n Black.

When I was on the road, we always went for different states, not the vanity plates. Problem with the vanity ones is there's generally at least ten different ones you can get and that's not including the basic plate with a custom number on it. It can get ridiculous. I wasn't any good at the game anyway. I generally slept most of the way.

sad sam had it about right for Tennessee, probably a plate for every single special-interest group that crawls out of the woodwork.

Always confuses me when I see the college teams plates: A Tennessee plate supporting univ of Florida or Alabama just looks wrong...

& also looks like someone looking to get his ass kicked. :rolleyes2

Used to be made by convicts here, but pretty sure that's not the case anymore. John Hiatt has a great song called "Tennessee Plates" that touches on the topic.

LOL I heard it as a joke, "How did you count how many cows there were so fast?"
"Counted the teats, & divided by four."

In Illinois the plates are made by the developmently disabled. I heard on a news (Fox or MSNBC) that Illinois has issued more vanity plates than any other state, do not know how true that is.
