Sir Arthur was one of the scientist authors who wrote science fiction, not fantasy.
Sadly the genre is now filled with talking dragons, sword and sorcery and re-hashes of Star Wars.
Clarke, Asimov and Henlein, irreplaceable.

Last of the old guard, RIP.
Read "The City & The Stars" back in HS, left a lasting impact on me...

"The City & The Stars"
Still as rivetting (and relevant) today.
The Deep Range was another.

His obituary stated that he was "still hoping to find signs of intelligent life beyond earth"
Shit, I'm hoping to find signs of intelligent life on earth.
