People who are this passionate about sex are bound to be passionate about other things!
Another forum where I visit had a participant quote somone else saying in response to another poster's desire to kill Saddam Hussein "If I could kill Bush, I would, to stop this war". This poster was quickly investigated by the FBI and has been forbid by tribunal under the Patriot Act from posting on the internet.
So far, this thread has been passionate and fairly respectful.
We can't forget that freedom of expression isn't what it was in the US a few years ago.
Let's keep our heads clear and our bodies warm

Too true. In my youth (many moons ago), when my family and I were flying across the Atlantic, I asked the stewardess (now they are Flight Attendants) if I could "see the cockpit". She went forward, checked, and escorted me into the cockpit, where "the captain" pinned a pair of wings on me. No really - it really did happen - just like that. I can still remember it vividly.
Can anyone imagine this happenning today? Alas and woe to the passing of more innocent times!
You can't even purchase an airline ticket without a photo ID!

When I was a kid, I asked to see the cockpit. The last thing I remember was the pilot asking me "Do you like watching gladiator movies?"

I do not expect anything less than this fighting talk Lil. But do not be surprised at the size of the coalition that would gather for a Lilith spanking session.

The one thing I admire about these political threads is the differing views open my eyes. I talk with many of you on a daily basis through these threads. We sometimes stray from the topic of sex to witness Web-cam viewing of puppies being born, for example.
What fascinates me is the passion in this thread. I really don't think anyone, no matter how eloquent (hi jseal!) is going to convert me into becoming a cheerleader for the Bush administration *but* I enjoy reading the views supporting him. Why? Because I believe this invasion is completely unjustified - how did the focus go from Al-Qaeda to Hussein? - I am interested to see how the American public views the attack.
I'd hate to see anyone getting an ulcer over this.

Vigil,
I trust that you won't be too upset if I occupy a rear echelon support position in the upcoming campaign?
I am willing to cheer you on though!

Don't worry Jseal - the planning will be precise - I'm concentrating on the Psych-ops at the moment.
Can I just say (and I've seen enough of war now to know that you must wait to see the full picture), but 1000+ cruise missiles in Baghdad and that odious Iraqi Information Minister can not find a civilian casualty.
The conventions keep changing.

Vigil,
I am looking forward (anticipatory voyeurism?) to when you execute your "shock and awe" operation.
I hope to be able to hold the camera steady. Come to think of it, it WILL be difficult to do so while holding the camera with only one hand. Hmm… perhaps I’ll need to use new technologies.
I’m uncertain, but I think the US Military is exploring something new here. The devastation is SO great, and the collateral damage is SO low, that I get the feeling that they are trying to find out if, indeed, the realization of force can be used to pry the leaders/tyrants/oppressors away from their power base – the people. I know that this sounds confused, but I’m still trying to understand what is going on underneath the razzle-dazzle.
Any thoughts?

It certainly appears that Saddam has learnt from the last conflict and stationed his loyal troops (completely immersed in his regime) with the conscripts to stop the mass capitulation we saw last time. Apparently there was fighting amongst Iraqi troops in the North Yesterday.
I think that we will have to wait till midweek when our forces arrive outside Baghdad. I can't see any point in the main republican guard wanting a conventional battle. But then how do you hide an army from satellites?
