I'm turning 30 this year too...But I have a very different perspective. My dad died at 34 -- so every year I get closer to that magical age of outliving my father. I hope for a long, healthy, and (yet more important) happy life after 30 and WAY beyond.
Every day is a gift. Sometimes I forget that, but you made me remember it just now.
You're age is part of what makes you, you. ((((lizz))))

25 was a weird one for me, too. I don't think I'll care about numbers anymore, tho'.
Also, since my birthday is Christmas Day, I definitely don't get a BirthMEDay Someone pretty important was born a long time before me on that day.

I didn't like the sound of 30, but when I got there it didn't seem so bad... but I really dreaded 40.
I thought it sounded too old, but once I got there, I realised that I was actually no different a person than I was the previous day (and 39) and it actually became a turning point for me.
Since I turned 40 I have blossomed and become more confident, I don't worry so much what people think of me, and my libido came back as a result
Life really does begin at 40

It occurred to me after my first post that 30 also was a bit of a crisis for me, but again, it had more to do with taking stock of where I was at the time...like I had just become a father, & was still working at a very low-paying job, waiting for that big break into the music biz...& I felt like people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up
The real mile marker that I was concerned about passing would have to be 45...that was where my older bro missed the "bridge out" sign, & checked out...I figured from 46 on was bonus minutes for me...

Had a pretty decent day today, and I am cooking a nice last meal before my 14 plus hours before I march off to this:
