I am leaning towards that Sharni. The state I live in 45% of the people share my values....and cover 95% of the area...but the big city at the top does not and they control 55% of the vote, so my side rarely wins.
The reason of my doubt in this case, is that I work and work on these campaigns for guys i believe in so very much...but always lose....and losing everytime SUCKS

But standing up for what you believe in is truly an admirable quality. Sometimes it is better to lose with dignity than to win by sacrificing your ideals.
See I told you I would be wishy washy on this one.

I always agree with that. One of my best friends is a die-hard on the opposite end as me...but he never gives in...that is why he is my best friend.

Then we could have DAFFY as Pres.

Hmmmmm............
Within the theory of democracy if we all voted for what we believed in, then whomever was in power, would be representing the views of the majority of the population. And if your views don't happen to be in the majority then unfortunately, you lose. That's the whole point. So from a theoretical standpoint, that's what I'd do.
HOWEVER:
a) Shouldn't the person you're voting for be upholding the basic values of 'your' party? And if they don't, shouldn't you consider joining another?
b) Sometimes it can be better to have a good leader with whom you disagree than a bad one, with whom you concur.
c) A lot depends on your electoral system: if you have a first past the post system, it may be better to vote tactically than for the person who upholds your beliefs.
d) All this talk about Skip's erections is making me horny...........oh sorry, what did you say? E-L-E-C-T-I-O-N-S? Ooops - my mistake.

I wasn't going to awnser this because politics always dissappoint
me.I would vote for what I believed in because if you don't satisfy
the person that looks back from the mirror, you really are a loser.
You have compromised your beliefs.Perhaps that is why we're (wife&I)registered as independants. While every party has some
good,it also has some bad! Irish
