Lisa ~ I went to the tattoo parlor and told the artist I wanted a tribal design on my leg. He just pulled out his personal sketch books and said "I drew this one to put on somone's leg" so he put it on mine...lol. No meaning behind it, it was just a spur-of-the moment thing and I love it.

Here's my one and only... so far. I got it about 6 months ago, and I was looking at designs for another one before I was out of the shop. I see now how people say they are addicting.

Eros---Many people that run Tattoo Parlors, are also (commercial)artists.I know that the one, that I go to,he is an artist & also his wife.I know that, when I wanted, one around my upper arm, they had none in the books, that I
liked.I described,what I wanted.He & his wife,drew it & I OKed it.They put it on a "transfer" paper.He transferred the outline,to my arm & this gave him the outline.When he was done,with the outline,he then filled in the outline,with
the color of my choice.Naturally, once you OK,the design, you make an appt.,
for the actual work.(Tattoo) Irish
P.S.In my area, you have to make an appt, because his work,is very good &
he is very busy!

I've felt a tattoo was something you may want to give some real thought to as it is going to be there for a while and should probably state something you have long term convictions about. I'm not sure how I avoided one while in the service with a pretty gung-ho group. Even the 'subtle' majority got one under the left arm with their blood type, serial number and the unit crest.
Being that I always preferred face to face discussions, I didn't need a skin statement but now I'm getting to where I may not always be able to express my view of the situation. I figure that three score of experience is long enough to be certain of what I want to say and that it will still be legible when I'm done with it. So my Pixie family is the first to see what I will never be able to look directly at.

. . . . but there are no old, bold mice.
I need to know more about Dubblz's ex being "Splippery When Wet".
After 5 years, I'm still waiting to find out.
Anyone, please?

I though I was under a lucky star. How old do mice get under that southern cross?

Getting a tattoo is such a liberating experience... I have four already, my first was when I was nineteen; I'd gotten it six months after my dad died. In fact, that tattoo was in honor of him. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles... so I got the HD emblem with his birth and death dates underneath it. Yes, I'd say for someone to get a tattoo that is going to last for life, it has to mean something to you, whether it has something with family, something you love ,etc. Anyway, I'll probably be covered with them by the time I've gotten old... but all I'd have to say by then was that at least I'd enjoyed my youth. By the way, Lizzardbits, I just love your "crow" tattoo.

Really old PF. When they're over 100 we call them kangaroos.

This is my other (right) arm . . the two tigers are "standard" inks, but messed around with a bit and the bamboo & grass etc. added in by the artist (Phil) . . . of the writing - that was done later. . . the top two words (and apologies to any Chinese ladies/gentlemen if it's wrong!) say "Year of the Tiger", which is my birth-year;- the bottom one is just made up (I hope!!!) by me, and is a joining together of the symbols for Pisces and Aries, which are mine & my very best (female) friend. . . we are VERY close (but not sexual) freinds, and it seemed the right thing to have a permanent reminder!!
BTW, if the Chinese characters are wrong. . . umm, tell me (I think!)

I'm sure I've posted this on here somewhere else but here it is. The very beginning of my full back piece. This was before she was colored in..so as soon as I get the full color pic I'll post it as well.

Just One of Four Hidden........
I have four Tat's. (I was defineitly a Salty Sailor) The one I present now though was done when My Daughter was born...........I hadn't drank or anything like that..............I just wanted to do something out of the ordinary. I went to a Young man that showed me a drawing of a single strand piece of Barbed wire. I then asked him if he thought he could overlap it to make it take on a different look. He did good and My Baby is Now Sweet Sixteen.............she reguards this Tat as a reminder of her Birth. (she thinks her Dad is Very COOL)

quisith---You must have started something popular. You should
have copyrighted;or trademarked;it.Before I had my last one
designed;my wife&I;looked at the ones pictured on the wall!
You can get an approximate price;by asking the price of 1-?.
That is one of the ones that we considered. And YES;it was
a double wire!(Like Barbed Wire) Irish
