28F now (1AM) with cloudy skies. Only getting up to 35F with mostly cloudy skies. What a contrast with yesterday when it was rainy but with highs getting up to well into the 60s!

30F and mostly cloudy now (5:17AM) and only getting up to 39F today also with cloudy skies. The good news is that Spring is only a month away. Pretty high probability of icy conditions this morning although when I looked out, it didn't look like we had received much YET. Hopefully, it'll pass us by. Yesterday was enough.

41F now going up to only 43F today .... but, it's a small move in the right direction. Looks like we'll mainly be in the 40's and 50's for the next week with only one chance of rain. That'll be a welcome relief. Ground is really soaked. Oh, yeah, our cloudy skies will still be here today. Been nice to have had the sun shining.

32F and partly cloudy getting up to 47F with cloudy skies. Seeing the sun would sure be nice. Anyway, at least the temps are a bit better.

Right now (1:30AM) it's 51F with mostly cloudy skies and expected to get up to 59F today but the cloudy skies will continue. Still, not too bad.

Been warming up of late, although the temperature on any given day has been all over the place. Right now, it's 42F/5.6C, with a relative humidity of 61%, mostly sunny, with no rain expected, and a forecast high of 62F/16.7C.

36F with clear skies right now ... Thursday 3/1; 11:26PM. Getting up to 47F on Friday with mostly cloudy skies. Maybe not quite as windy today which should help that 47F feel much better.

41F/5C right now: going up to a high of 43F/6.1C. Partly cloudy, and we have a high wind warning in effect.
...A HIGH-IMPACT WINDSTORM IS ONGOING FOR THE GREATER
BALTIMORE/WASHINGTON REGION OF THE MID-ATLANTIC OVERNIGHT THROUGH
EARLY SATURDAY MORNING...
At 7:00 AM EST, high winds have spread across the region, with
recently observed wind gusts at Washington Dulles International
Airport of 67 MPH, Washington Reagan National Airport of 62 MPH,
Naval Air Station Patuxent River of 66 MPH, Joint Force Andrews of
62 MPH, and Baltimore/Washington International Marshall Airport
of 52 MPH. Other high wind gust reports include of 69 MPH in
Gaithersburg in Montgomery County MD, and Ballenger Creek in
Frederick County MD.
Strong-to-damaging northwest winds will continue across the
region, sustained at 30-40 MPH, with gusts 60-70 MPH. Isolated
wind gusts could reach 80 mph, particularly at higher elevations
west of the Interstate 95 corridor. The strongest winds will occur
through Noon EST today; however, winds will continue to gust from
55-65 MPH this afternoon and continue through tonight.
This will be a prolonged, high-impact windstorm for the region,
with many downed trees and power lines expected. In addition to
the magnitude of the high wind gusts, the duration of the winds
will add to the hazardous nature of this event, as winds will
continue through the weekend before diminishing below 30 mph
Sunday afternoon. This will hamper the repair of power lines and
tree removal.
Widespread power outages are occurring. Travel is dangerous,
especially for high profile vehicles, and motorists need to be
aware of rapidly changing road conditions due to the potential of
downed trees and power lines. Pedestrians will face very
hazardous conditions, and need to be aware of wind-borne
projectiles. People should avoid being outside in forested areas
and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower
levels of your homes during the windstorm, and avoid windows. If
you use a portable generator, follow manufacturer's instructions
and do not use inside homes, garages, or apartments.

^^^^ Sounds like you folks really got a taste of Mother Natures sometimes fierce behavior. When I heard on the Weather Channel yesterday that the E. Coast could expect very strong winds I thought of all you and said some prayers for your safety. Hopefully none of you were hurt.
Here ... now ... we're at 33F and 10 min. to 1AM with clear skies getting up to 51F today with sunny skies. Winds should be in the 5-10mph range.

Sunny and around the predicted high of 48F/8.9C right now; Some minor winds left over, but the big weather-related news is, the storm partially took down a highway sign in Northern Virginia; the authorities had to close the interstate in the middle of rush hour Friday, and the crane to finish removing the sign could operate in the winds even yesterday. Removing the sign is an 11-hour operation, so the interstate, along with a couple of more local roads, is *still* closed. Should be re-opened soon, though.

35F and partly cloudy at 3:47AM but only getting up to 44F today and rain is expected. Not going to be a pretty day although I suppose the farmers will be happy getting the moisture in the ground before they get their crops planted this spring.
