The next day or so looks to be rain, snow, sleet.

It's getting worse and worse here. Forecast now is for snow totalling 1-3" tonignt; 4-7" tomorrow; and 10 - 15" tomorrow night ... not including the one or two inches we've already received. Plus, we're getting some sleet or freezing rain so there'll be icing on the roads, too. And, the temperatures are falling ... 19F and falling right now.

Tonight through Wednesday night we expect first a half to three quarts of an inch of ice followed by 8 to 12 inches of snow with blowing winds on Wednesday and Thursday. Thursday low will be -5F. As of now we already have a quarter to a half inch of ice.

Not sure that we got any snow between about 8PM and now (5AM) ... but it's still all in the forecast for today, tonight, and, tomorrow. Son didn't try to go to work because of the forecast last night and will probably be a bit upset that he could have gone and gotten home without any snow. Sometimes, I wonder if the weather forecasters spend more time trying to outdo each other (making headlines) rather than trying to get the forecast accurate.

It's starting to warm up here in Middle Tennessee. It's just above 50f and cloudy with a chance of rain. Would ride the bike, but rain hurts.

Ice. Not very much of it, but more ice on the way.

Snowing now. Probably have already received an inch or so with 2-4" more expected this afternoon and then as much as 18" tonight and another 3 04 4" tomorrow. That'd be close to 26" if the outside numbers are reached.

Possible snow this weekend. Cold at the very least the rest of the week.

Snowing like crazy outside with winds in the 30 mph range drifting the snow in piles a foot or two high ... and we're not even to the "heavy snow" we're suppose to get tonight.
The attached picture is from about 1:30PM and it's 4:30PM now. The pile of snow by the car is higher now.
It's hard to believe the mailman actually got through. I'm surprised they didn't just wait. Oh well, I guess that's where the old motto, "Neither sleet nor rain nor dark of night" came from. I just wonder how they'll get home after their route.
I see where Allerton Park is, they're getting "ICE" which is much worse, and our daughter in Indianapolis says they've had about 1/2" of ice and expecting more.
Just took a second picture of the car and you can see the snow level creeping up beside it.
My son thought the plow had been through the area once ... but you can't tell it now. Streets are full covered and you can't really tell where the curbs are.
Keep ya' posted.

Cyclone Yasi 250 miles off the coast.
The RADAR pic from Willis Island shows no wind, so it's broken the wind gauge.

The island RADAR is on the blink, for some reason.

Stay safe both of you. DB, I hope you have a fireplace. I have the funny feeling you might need it by the time the night is through.

Still blowin' and snowin' this morning but I think we're gradually reaching the end. I think they're predicting another maybe 4" today but with the wind still blowing, there'll be a lot of drifting.
Guess I'll have to start digging out this morning.
OF, please keep us posted. We just want you and M. to be safe. Actually, we'd kind of like all of Australia to stay safe.

It looks like it'll go way south of us.
Fang's in the path of floodwaters maybe in a week.
They're equating this storm with Katrina.
