Brit sim cards
Mrs OF and I will be in the UK for three weeks on a guided tour of the aviation museums, airfields and airshows.
Our phones are useless in the US, but throw-away sims seem to be the way to go in the UK.
Can any of our Brit members please advise me how much the sims would cost, and what the call pricing structure is?

The norm seems to be about a fiver (£5!!) pricing is very much network-dependent I'm afraid. The supermarket chains seem to do pretty cost-effective pricing even on the PAYG plans, e.g. 10p per text, anywhere from 4p to 15p per minute voice.
If you like, I'll check out some sites and PM them to you - might take a day or two though.

Rhiannon, I considered that, but it's just too darned expensive.
I don't mind how rainy it is, so long as it happens in places I'm not.

Hi OF! I've had a bit of a look and the following sites will give you a fair idea what you're looking for
Sim Only Deals
MoneySupermarket
Other sites to check are the supermarket sites, as you can get SIM-only deals there too.
Tesco or Asda amogst others, though these two are the biggest and hence (probably) cheapest.
The other option is simply to buy a cheap PAYG phone when you get here - you can get them for under £30, and that way it doesn't even matter that much if you lose it!!
Anyway, I'm sure you'll both have a terrific time here - will you be up in Scotland at any point? (watch out for the midges, if so!!)

Thanks again DM.
The furthest north we'll get is Lincoln.
The focus of the tour is Brit WW2 stuff with a bit of Culture if we have time.

Ah..... not very North, then! I asked because we have this up here, which may have been on your schedule.

We are subject to the wishes of the TourFuhrer.
As we're only in country for a little under a month, a pay as you go's a better idea.
