True Blood
I'm having a vampy addiction at present *L* I was chatting on another forum about Twilight when a friend bought this series to my attention.
Well now *L* in he last 24hours or so i've watched season 1 and am now desparately waiting for season 2 (due for release in July in the US apparently)
Its got it all, laughter, tears, romance, mystery, a gay guy (*LOL* he is a classic), well just everything!
Anyone else watching it?

I watched this series when it first came on. I was intrigued because it was created by Alan Ball, the mastermind behind Six Feet Under (one of the best tv shows ever).
I watched... 6 episodes or so but I just wasn't drawn in enough, I suppose. Was the rest of season one good? Should I go back?

Well Season 2 is finally here...wooohooooo
I've just finished the 9th book in the series also, anxiously awaiting the next installment *L*
While the TV series and the books share the same universe so to speak, i regard them as sorta different. Things happen in the books that do not happen in the series, or things in the series dont quite match the books.
But i will say i am REALLY enjoying both.

I caught a few episodes on Cathay Pacific, but they'd been pulled by the time we flew back, probably a bit raunchy.
It didn't grab me.

i've only seen part of the first season...i've got the first 12 eps on my computer to watch (it's all of season 1)...just havent had time. I'm listening to the audio books at work though. I'm on book 8 of 9 of the Sookie Stackhouse books. Also, if you like sexy vamps...check out Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake:Vampire Hunter series (book/audio book)...it's coming to tv sometime in 2010 as a series.(there's 17 books so far in it i think)

The company I work for ships WB, HBO, and BBC. I'm tired of looking at the cases for True Blood. What I've seen of the actual show....it's pretty good, but looks like something you have to watch from the beginning. That way you know the characters, necessary background, that kind of thing.

ShadowDancer ~ The TV series runs a bit differently to the books, but i enjoy both in their own right. I've just been sent the side stories to the Sookie series, it helps to understand the characters better. I'll certainly keep an eye out for the Vampire Hunter series. I trying to collect the Carpathian (Christine Feehan) series at present though.
Yep Sunday for you, Tuesday its ready for me to download *L* Though not for a few weeks now for me, dropped back to freakin dialup!!!
Lord Snow ~ Watching it from the start would defiantely be an advantage. The show is absolutely awesome!!

I've noticed the book vs show differences...one of my coworkers is into S2 already of True Blood...(the books are making the rounds in my dept since we listen to audio books while we work)...and she keeps asking me did this happen in the book, did that happen??? and I'm like NOPE...totally different!
