HaHa! I first heard that the term for drug use was 420 when someone on my diet board brought it to my attention. My name on there is Pita420 and there were people on there that actually thought I liked to get high and because I was dieting ate pita bread. Pita by the way stands for pain in the ass, not that I don't like me some good pita bread from time to time.

In my former life, with my ex, we smoked a lot of dope. It was both an escape and a trap from my miserable life. I haven't touched drugs or cigarettes in almost 4 years. I so rarely drink that a beer or a glass of wine give me a buzz. I love my life now!

Alright, to clear this up a bit '420' refers to smoking marijuana. I have a non-traditional view on marijuana use but I won't really go into it here. Hope that helps a bit to clear up the confusion.

Never smoked and don't see a reason to start now, but I am for legalization.

Anyone who has ever worked a drive through at a fast food restaurant will tell you that a person high on pot is 100 times easier and more pleasant to deal with than some drunk asshole.

What do you mean drive-thru??? What high person in their right mind feels the need to go anywhere????? I always say the best thing about pot over alcohol is no stoned drivers. Smokin does not usually inspire the need to do much of anything much less leave the house.

I worked fast food in a college town, there were at least three apartment complexes within a block of the Hardee's I worked at. Stoned people will walk to get three burgers for a dollar.

Walk not Drive. Me personally, I've never smoked, don't have a reason to smoke, probably never will smoke. Most I've ever done for drugs is MY scripts and get drunk. However, I'm another for legalization just because I think it's stupid to lock someone up for a year because they smoked. Especially when all would take is a slight adaptation to the tobacco laws to give another income to the government so they can quit dipping into my pocket.

My original intentions for the thread was just a simple question of do/did you smoke marijuana. I didn't want to get into all different aspects of whether it was right or wrong, in order to avoid a much heated topic. Decriminalization/legalization is a touchy subject along with Politics and Religion. I try my best to steer clear of those topics because people tend to always think their opinion is the correct one, and adamantly refuse to accept any other views. Not saying that about any of youse, just in general. If everyone can agree to maintain some level of civility, I'll post my thoughts on the matter of cannabis. =)

Now, as for marijuana making someone feel like not doing anything, this isn't totally true. There's three widely known species of cannabis; Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, and Cannabis ruderalis. There may be more but for our purposes, we'll focus on these three. Cannabis ruderalis is an almost unknown species here in the West, because it's a wild variety native to Russia and the surrounding areas. Most cannabis nowadays is usually a hybrid of Sativa/Indica.

There's quite a few differences that differentiate the two, but we'll focus on the the type of 'high' they give. Indicas are usually what give you that 'couchlocked' or 'stoned' feeling. When you smoke this type, you usually won't do anything but keep the couch warm, and talk about deep philospohical thoughts... lol As far as Sativas go, this is the type that gives you an energetic high that makes you want to do everything.

So, class... to sum it up... Indicas = 'body' high, and Sativas = 'head' high. =) This isn't absolutely written in stone, but it gives you a nice, general idea.

Lillith, if you feel this topic is a bit verboten for your forums, please feel free to remove it because I wouldn't like to attract any unwanted/unnecessary attention to the forums.
