get attached to girls that are out of my league? I get to like someone, then I get this crazy notion that I might have a chance so I think about her constantly and get more attached yet still realize she's too good for me. I'm sure I could get a date out of her but I'm so afraid that I'll be my typical shy boring self that I hesitate to ask her out. I work with her and we've been out with friend a couple of times and we talk so I know she at least likes me in a friendly way. Sorry to ramble. I'm just going nuts here.

ah Saint... a woman is only too good for you if you allow that to be the case... if you feel that you aren't worthy... then odds are she is going to pick up on that.. and will agree. IF you have legitimate reasons for feeling that way.. then work on those to better yourself...

Or even worse than that Romial.......if it were two years from now and you are involved with another girl (someone you thought was more in your league but doesn't make you totally happy) and you met up with this old crush again for a drink or something.....and she told you she had always hoped you would ask her out cause she had a crush on you way back when!!!!!!!!! YIKES!

Great to have you posting Saint82! Life is too short to sit around and judge yourself. You might be surprised at how others think of you.........but........you'll NEVER know unless you try. If it works out.....yoooohoooooo! If not....try something/someone else! And do me a giant favor hun...........hold your head higher than what I imagine it is now. Thanx everyone. Lixy, that really put a smile on my face. I think I just assume that things won't work out because I've never been very happy in life so negativity is what I'm used to. I'm in a very depressed place in life now which doesn't help matters any. My life hasn't gone anywhere in the 4 years I've been out of HS. I have no ne to talk to about my problems so they get bottled up inside. Sorry,I don't mean to sound like a crybaby.

Don't worry about it Saint, everyone needs to let it all out at some point. I know how you feel, because I'm in the same boat. I've been out of HS for 7 years and really haven't gotten anywhere. My plans for the immediate future have been shot all to hell and I don't have a girlfriend at the moment, but hey it could be worse.

I've come to the conclusion that life just likes to screw with you. You just have to deal with it.

I'm a firm believer that life is what you make of it, and it always has the potential to be amazing and fulfilling! You need to ask yourself what's the worst that could happen if you ask this girl out? You'll probably find the worst is she'll say no. While no one likes rejection, if she says no than it wasn't meant to be, and like Lixy said, isn't knowing that better than all the "what If's"?

I always thought that you meet someone, you like them, you hope they like you and eventually you have the courage to find out. If they don't, you feel like a stupid arse for a while, then you get over it and find someone else.

I must have been doing it wrong all these years........
