degrees.....It's going to be too hot to roast a turkey without roasting ourselves. I am actually going to have to turn the AC on
Do you think it's ok to just have salad and fruit for Thanksgiving?

Bring your family over to my house, Lil. They're predicting rain turning to snow.
If you could come, you'd be welcome. What's 6 more when I already have 17 coming??? And I bought a 30 lb turkey...... Then you wouldn't need to cook!

Bonnie, mosquitoes all year, Charley, hotter in your kitchen than in your oven at Thanksgiving, Frances, alligators that eat your dog, Ivan, Christmas carolers in bathing suites, Karl………………..
Guess my ancestors weren’t so stupid after all.

I've always heard of deep frying the turkey, but I'm not sure how I could handle that...If my mom ever deep fried the turkey I'd skip it lol
Wonder who came up with that idea in the first place???? It's definately creative because I never would have dreamed it up!

Then give it a try Lil.
Around here you get arrested if you do anything BUT deep fry your turkey.
BTW..............it's going to be freezing here on Thanksgiving. Only 58 degrees.

That's a lot of people to cook for Nikki (BTW, the brit celebrating TG didn't even hit me until you said something osuche LOL)
I always try to bring stuff with me when I go to moms, last year I took a pumpkin pie, some dressing and some crackling bread. This year I think I'm going to take a pumpkin pie, some of wyndhy's crab dip and a mac and cheese casserole. I can deal with that, but 20 people, whew. Once mom decides she doesn't want to cook anymore I'm going to fiance's sister's house I guess LOL
When you go to someone elses house (or when other people come over) do they bring dishes with them?

Nikki is a US millitary spouse She is cooking for her US peeps there I am sure. But I do see the irony. Best Thanksgiving I ever had was when Mr. Lil first was in Tech school in the Air Force. There were a few of us all first year married, all living in squalor, all scared and away from home. We had the best meal together because while none of us could afford the whole meal we could all afford to bring something. I made my first turkey that year. I remember the guy and his wife across the hall had us all shake cream into butter like we were Kindergarteners.
Nikki enjoy!
