Maybe they got carried away over the excitement of a new place. Hopefully they won't make it a standing party invitation, but if they do...call the cops, like you said. People need to sleep, that's why disturbance laws exist. If it continues...tell your landlord that you won't put up with it and will consider breaking your lease and moving.
