Ahem, I'm the president of the local amateur Astronomy society and we organised an event to show people the transit. The local TV station heard about it and called on Monday afternoon to ask if they could join us. Well I'd be crazy to say "no" wouldn't I? So come they did, arriving at 6am and leaving just after 8. The society secretary, myself, and couple of the committee were interviewed. Apparently the lunchtime news program did have me talking but they edited me out for the evening program.
If I can get technology to work I might be able to download a copy of the segment off videotape onto a website but don't hold your breath! Meanwhile amuse yourselves with some of the pix taken during the morning, at www.heras.org.uk , checking out "Society Pics"...
