I got lucky for a change. No clouds here. I could only observe about the last hour and a half (after it got high enough above the horizon for me ) at my longitude, but I DID get to see the exit contacts.

Sorry some of us didn’t post something up earlier. There’s a lot of neat and cheap ways to observe solar events safely. About the simplest is to pick up a No.12 welding lens at any welding supply or auto parts store. You’ll be able to use it for the next transit of Venus in 2012 if you’re at Sharni’s house. (There are other events coming up in the next few years too.)
