i prefer my partners(male or female) to be trimmed, although it's not as big of a deal with men...they seem to have less hair in the way. personally, i much prefer to be waxed, but since my girl and i aren't together anymore, i have no one to wax me so usually it ends up being magic* or a razor. although i much prefer magic because it doesn't leave razor burn. don't get the extra strength stuff tho...it smells AWFUL. oh, and epil-stop...don't waste your money. it's not even reliable on leg hair

(*magic shaving powder kicks ass! one of my girlfriends introduced a bunch of us to it and we have to race each other to the store for it. it's with the "ethnic" hair care products at pretty much any drugstore...walgreens.com has it on their website even..... or any grocery store should have it. i've found it at kroger, meijer, winn dixie, thriftway, etc. it's purpose, according to the label, is to minimize shaving bumps for african american men. it must work, cuz it stays pretty well stocked. you mix two teaspoons of the powder with two teaspoons of water to make a paste, smear it on, and 5 minutes later, use a little spatula to "scrape" it off. i've never had it not work, and i've never had a reaction even in sensitive areas. although i usually do it while sitting on the edge of the tub or even the toilet, so i can keep my legs apart and keep it off my clit.)
