scarletangel - Please read about your Acne doctor

I read your post. I understand you complettely. I afraid to tell you that your doctor doesn't like you use Proactive. There is a reason why.

I had been doing a lot and a lot research in skin care products read a lot of books from experts writing approved by the FDA . Here i want to cut and past the text that written by Paula Begoun about her review on Proactive.

ProActiv

There is no doubt some percentage of people will benefit from using the ProActiv routine (it contains the basics that are necessary for over-the-counter treatment of acne), but it's definitely not for everyone, and every dermatologist knows this (just check out the American Academy of Dermatology Web site at www.aad.org, for example, on their recommendations for battling blemishes). It also goes without saying that other lines offer many less expensive versions of all the ProActiv products.

Some of the ProActiv products are very good, while other product formulations are problematic for some skin types. Plus, many of the products contain fragrance, which is a particularly egregious oversight from a so-called dermatologic line.

Revitalizing Toner ($16.00 for 4 ounces) is a good 6% AHA liquid. However, when it comes to most kinds of breakouts, research indicates that BHA (salicylic acid) rather than AHA is the best way to exfoliate for breakout prevention. Salicylic acid can exfoliate on the surface of skin as well as within the pore because it is lipid soluble (meaning it can penetrate oil). AHAs exfoliate primarily on the surface of skin because they are water soluble and can't work beneath the surface.

Repairing Lotion ($21.75 for 2 ounces) contains 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. This is a fine benzoyl peroxide product, but it doesn't repair anything in the skin; it only disinfects. Keep in mind there's nothing special or unique about this benzoyl peroxide lotion; you can find several products just like it in the acne section at your local drugstore.

Advanced Blemish Treatment ($17.00 for 0.33 ounce) is a 6% benzoyl peroxide solution. However, the fourth ingredient is alcohol, which makes this unnecessarily drying and irritating. There are far more gentle 5% and 10% benzoyl peroxide products at the drugstore for a fraction of this price.

For your information. I had been using Retin-A with antibiotic lotion and I had been using Good cleanser and good toner. Reliable sunblock.

my face is so clear no black or white heads. it only pop up 1 or 2 pimples before my PMS Day. which is normal

by the way I am one of the MOderator in my own web site talking about skin care and acne and other skin stuffs. I think you would love to read more about the market's skin care products' review.
