Lucky got a reprieve today, regular vet wasn't in the office today, but the other doc told us to try 1/2 of an Immodium pill, & feed him baby food to keep his diet bland. So far so good. (& a hearty  to those Pixies who cared enough to PM me in my dark hour  )
Back still hurt like hell this am, but I got a back brace w/a pouch for an ice pack...wearing that seems to help.
I hope my back recuperates enough to go jam a little with my guitar player tomorrow
