It is only our national arrogance that makes us take offense to that... and not accept it as a wake-up call.

A couple of years ago, when that Japanese official said that Americans lacked work ethics, he took a lot of heat. For what? Telling the truth? The truth hurts sometimes. We need to take what is being said about us with a grain of salt and do what we can to correct it.

As a fellow Texan, I agree with you on a lot of things. But to say our education system is the best in the world is far from the truth. Let's look at the Koreans, the Germans, the Dutch... hell, even the Japanese - how does our Education System stack up compared to theirs?

Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of national pride -even more TEXAS pride... but I'll be among the first to admit we need improvement in a lot of different areas.

Education and work ethics are two of them.
