Problem: He can't, doesn't or won't recognize the line that he's crossing. If he can't recognize it, he needs be shown the line. If he won't recognize the line, castigation might in one instance be helpful to prevent future missteps. If he doesn't recognize the moment is inappropriate in the future, it would then be appropriate to ostracize that person for a specific period of time and tell him what happened, why, and how long the penalty will continue.
Finally, again, if he won't recognize the line "not to cross" he needs be permanently excluded from social gatherings where those whom would be offended by his presence will be in attendance. He could attend other social events where the people that would be offended will not be in attendance. If he's a gate crasher, Then the security of invitees is paramount and he should be ejected immediately.

Adage: 2 things are certain in life; Death & Taxes. Therefore; God & Beelzebub had a meeting to fix the problem. A mighty storm prevailed for ages until finally they ended the storm with the agreement: From now on Anyone whom chooses doesn't have to die. "Everyone wins said Beelzebub. You get an eternally grateful bunch of worshippers praying forever for lower taxes as I goad & prod them forever with higher & higher taxation."
