* Had an absolutely wonderful phone conversation with a friend that may have put me in a good mood until my 40th birthday

* Got sort of a slap in the face (not during the phone call) that I will use as motivation to improve my looks and hopefully my health. I've absolutely had it. I'm getting back to what IowaMan is supposed to be, not what the cystic fibrosis thinks I should be. That disease had better look out because I'm coming and I'm coming hard.

* Remembered what it's like to drive on icy roads.
