PLEASE PLEASE always make sure your furbaby is NOT under your recliner (if you have one) when you get up or sit down. Our little Loki snuck underneath James' recliner this afternoon and was hurt when James was trying to get up. We rushed him to the vet...$114 and a set of XRAYS and a shot for pain/shock later, he is recovering VERY slowly. However, we did find out, that the age we were given when we got our sweet Loki, was incorrect. We were told he was 6-8 wks old. According to the vet, he is actually just now 6.5 wks old ( and we've had him 2 wks). And he weighs less than 1lb. Loki has been VERY therapeutic for James and his moods. This kitten has given him something to look forward to when getting out of bed daily.

awww.....poor thing

Hope he's alright...cute little thing

Always have to watch for cats...lol they like the weirdest places

I know BIBI! And this one is SO damn little! His weight in his chart was listed as .75lbs...and since the vet says he's just now at 6.5 wks, that means he was only 4 wks old when we got him! He wasn't ready to be weaned yet! He was suckling in his sleep this morning, James says. He's still sleeping--being snuggled gently by his "daddy".

I love cats and dogs....some of the best people I know lol. I'm sure he will be fine with lots of love and care.

What a gorgeous little kittah!

Glad to hear he hasn't suffered any long term damage!

ShadowDancer 12-17-2013 10:44 PM

We hope he hasn't, Fangtasia. He doesn't want to eat or drink & we are forcing a little water via eyedropper. He was squished a good bit by the chair. And since he is so small, the xrays were difficult to fully read. :( It is a waiting game now.

Maybe you should go to the vet and ask for some milk they have for kittens....in fact I have seen it a Walmart for kittens that won't or can't nurse. Surprised your vet didn't recommend it to you.

Lots of rest will help just like with us when we are hurt.
Good luck with him....:)

Such a precious little kitty. Coloring is about the same as our cat .. which at 20lb. is just a little bit bigger. We'll say some extra prayers for it. For James, too. He must feel terrible.

We once had a kitten climb up underneath & behind the dashboard of our van. Little thing was wedged up in there so far I could barely see her. If she hadn't finally come out for a can of food, I'd have been taking the dash apart.

And would've ended up with a bucket of spare parts putting it back together again. With some of the lights not quite right. And leaning a little to the left. (pitched, for drainage, I call it).

so how is the kitten doing

ShadowDancer 12-19-2013 10:04 AM

Loki is slowly coming back to his playful self. He FINALLY ate some of his wet catfood yesterday...and started batting at his toys a bit. He got tired quickly, though, and laid down to nap. He was also very affectionate yesterday evening, purring like mad & rubbing against our faces.

great news......:)
