Laundry madness*

:box: ARGH! I'm sick of doing laundry! Specifically, I'm sick of not having an appartment with a washer/dryer hook up and having to do it at a piss-ant laundrymat every week!

And y'know what? I want to know, why is it that someone looks at you like you have four heads growing out your frickin' EYE SOCKETS when you sit down in a laundrymat with a book that's past a 9th grade literacy comp. level? What, just because I go to a fuckin' laundrymat to do my laundry means I can't read big people books now? The hell is that?!

Dammit! I hate laundry and I want it to die! ALL OF IT! :banghead: :hair:

*This rant has been brought to you by a severely sleep deprived and, frankly, cranky Buddha who doesn't want to do any more laundry. Ever. Carry on.

I feel your pain.

Some time ago, the dryer broke down over the weekend, the weather made the clothesline a non-option, & I was reminded of the joys, the sounds, the SMELLS, the pure living HELL that is a modern day laundromat...esp. one where the A/C wasn't working, & no way I was going anywhere I couldn't stand guard over the one available dryer with all our clothes in it...

I have in the past spent a lot of time in washaterias. Here it's a social event. With 2 unis it is not uncommon to see kids sitting with textbooks studying while there. We also have nice ones that serve food etc.

We've got one down the street called Beer and Suds LOL

In my experience the laundromat was a great pickup joint...sorry to say I was usually in a relationship when I went. :p

Unfortunately the only thing you can really 'pick up' at my laundromat is a black eye.

Or an STD.

Or a nickle bag from one of my fellow college retards.

I have had a number of near misses at Casas dos Tumble.

They were probably scrubbers, but I'm no Omo.

I haven't had a washer & dryer in my apartment for years. Today, the slightly-better half is taking my clothes across the street because I've come down with some kind of stomach bug.

I've never had anyone stare at me for reading a book, though. The only reading material the 'mat has here are National Geographics from a decade ago.

So they're only staring cuz you're touching yourself to the pictures of natives chopping up a wild pig?
