*^* Summer's Eve *^*
Sounds like a good name for a douche:o:D
Here in the northern hemisphere it is the Midsummer Night's Eve a night for festive frolicking and dancing naked under the moon. Here is a charm to ensure a good remainder of the year. Pierce the skin of and orange (represents the sun) and a lemon ( the moon) with cloves. To entice a lover pick 5 roses and ~ 1) bury one under a tree at midnight 2)place one by a church 3)place one at a crossroad with the head pointing towards your home 4)place one near running water 5)place under your pillow for 3 nights and then bury it. Anyone feel like frolicking? |
Not sure you meant me.........
but........ *strips all clothing and slowly begins to sway and dance.....turning the dance to a skip and a frolick as I glance up to the moon* |
here in the southern hemisphere it is the eve of the winter solistice, the shortest day of the year.
Brrrrrrrr. I hate going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark. Enjoy your summer my northern friends |
In my part of the world we celebrate on the 23rd (celebrating both midsummer and the birth of John the Baptist)...it's a day filled with barbecues, lots of drinking, and bonfires on the beach.
Old beliefs say that if a young woman wants to know who she is going to marry she should go out at night and pick 7 or 9 herbs and put them under her pillow....in her dreams she will see the face of her future husband. (I think I'll try that this year... :p) The dew falling on this night has remarkable healing powers...so if you feel a bit poorly, get naked and roll around in the grass. |

Any houses around you for sale Christine, it's not that I'd like you to be poorly but...:lust: |
To have your love returned weave sprigs of rosemary, yellow ribbon, and bits of his hair into a heart shape and sleep with them under your pillow till you have a fire in the fireplace then you burn the wreath...as it increases the flames of the fire it also does so of your lover's desire.

OMGGGGGGGGGG............Don't get me started. (I better get get fed soon)

Lilith, it IS the name of a scent of one brand of douche, isn't it?
My daughter went to a Pagan summer soltice celebration tonight (she went to it last fall, too) and had a great time. Sadly, I was not invited. |
Rats ... slept through it. :( I thought rolling around naked in the dew sounded especially inviting. Do we have to wait a whole 'nother year for that?
