Geography
WITHOUT looking at a map, please answer.
If I am standing in Detroit and proceed due south, which foreign country do I first encounter? |
Wouldn't that be Canada?
Check it, but keep your answer to yourself till we get a fair guesslist, please.
Cuba?
South America
Is this before or after my left turn at Albuquerque?
Depends on which map you are using.
The one with "X marks the spot" is likely to be the least reliable.
If it is you, the United States :p
Well picked, Lil, but sadly I've abandoned the Yankee shore for the Golden Sands of Oz.
I guess a south American country like French Guiana or Ecuador. Now i will go look :)
And now i know if i was correct or not. But im not saying if im right :p

Per your request, I'm not going to give away the answer. But one of the previous answers is the correct one.
It's Albuquerque isn't it? I knew it. LOL
Albuquerque is in NEW Mexico. Close, but no cigar.
Cleveland????????????????????
No, Cleveland is neither foreign soil, nor New Mexico.

I'll go with that and add that it'll be the same with a 'forward march' or 'to the rear march'. |
We won't even begin to canvass the most easterly part of the US.
Windsor, Canada. Ford used to build V8's there (& may still for all I know)...
While we're the topic, anyone with an interest in the quirks of US geography may want to check out How the States Got Their Shapes I think it would have been a better read if the states were listed in chronological rather than alphabetical order, but still worth the effort.

Nope, stick with the US. |
OK, OK! It's Semisopochnoi Island in the Aleutian Islands.
