U.S. Citizenship Test
U.S. Citizenship Test
Try this out - educational and fun. 24 out of 30 is considered a passing grade. Supposedly 96% of all High School seniors FAILED this test...AND if that's not bad enough, 50+% of all individuals over 50 did too. Click on link below- Good luck http://games.toast.net/independence/ |

Not real proud of my results, particularly as unlike most of the online quiz's, the summery is a statistical statement rather than arbitrary or subjective thoughts. I need to much on some of these numbers. |
Your Score is 23
Very, Very close! A little refresher course and you'll pass. Shows I've been watching too much Amercan Television. |

At the time I tested, the total participants was 72,668. I used that number to figure my percentages. I found that dropping the bottom 272 scores of less than 10 correct for a better mean average would only change my result by less than 0.4%. I found it encouraging that over 93.5% did better than a coin toss average and over 79% had better than 2/3 correct. Keeping in mind that my figures are percentages of their percentages, I don't know what it all means but there are some surprise to certain questions.
I was surprised to see that two highest age groups that made up the 55+ had the highest average score of 22 and was 14% of the test takers. The combined age groups of 14-44 all shared the same score average of 20. Ages 45-54 had the in between score of 21 and only the group of 13 and under scored 19 on average. Does this reflect the life involvements of family and job? I tested in a 3% slot of the top 12% but was surprised to see only 1.3% maxed the quiz. The largest group score averages from the total taking the test was 5.5% with the score of 21. The best numbers came from the state/province taking the test. YES! Provinces. They had some of our wonderful neighbors interested in doing the quiz. I doubt any of the states would have done as well on Canadian citizenship as the Yukon did on American. The REAL kicker came from the highest average score of 23 from anywhere, was from Newfoundland and Labrador. Higher than from any US state. I found it interesting that the two states of California and Texas made up 11.5% of all the people taking the test, with an average score of 21 for each. Ten states (Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, and Texas,) made up 26.5% of the 61 states, provinces (and that one district with state rights and no state responsibilities ;) ) with over 1,000 each taken the test, even though they were only 16.5% of the total. I don't know if that just reflects population size but Arizona and Georgia being in there makes me think not. I found the tables given at the end to be interesting. :D |
I bet our number cruncher, Maddy, could come up with many more interesting facts.
|
I got 16, but considering we didn't cover any American history/politics in school, I don't think that's too bad! Better than I was expecting, anway!

27. And they included the bullshit about the Pilgrims coming to America to find "religious freedom".

Got a 29, only missed the question of how many amendments have been proposed but never ratified...I only knew of one in my lifetime (ERA), & I don't recall covering fine details like that in civics or US history class...but knowing about ERA helped me get the next one right, that was a very tricky question.
And not to brag or anything, but... Nana nana boo-boo, I got more right than anybody... |
scotzoidman,
Dude, You Rock! :thumb: |

Near Perfect! This was a difficult test, you should be proud! I guessed at a few and I screwed up the easiest ones. I think it had a lot to do with the fact that I am finally well fed, not drunk and relaxed. I got home from vacation a few days ago and I'm sure I would have scored worse if I took it that day! |
Looks like it's time for deportation for me............ 25. :(
