seeing that I have email from someone special

i havent gotten to do this in yearsbut it is one of my favorite 'simple pleasures'
sit on a large front or back porch and watch a big thunderstorm roll in across the sky for miles and go stand in it when it gets to me and just stare at the sky til it is gone.

then go in get dried off and into warm clothes fresh out of the dryer and snuggling wiht my sweetie. :x: just imagine! :x:

getting a chance to catch up with old friends

The way my daughter puts her arms around my neck in the morning, half-asleep, and wants to be carried.

Sittin on the back porch watchiing the horses graze, hearing the birds sing and NO cars driving by. :)

Having someone in your life with a similar background, thoughts, feelings, and beliefs.

when someone is a dumbass and it works in your favor and gives you the giggles :p

Watching my daughter sleep so peacefully.
Man they grow up too fast.

CGT, you're so right... the years pass by far too quickly and then our babies have moved on. Watching a child sleep is one of God's gifts to us, I think. At the very least, it helps us to not clobber them while they're awake and being brats, haha.


Some simple pleasures...

The smell of a newly mowed lawn, mmmm

The sound of birds singing (but NOT mockingbirds in the middle of the night :bang: )

The laughter of a baby

Holding his hand

Climbing into bed at the end of the day, when the house is quiet and everyone else is safely in their beds.

Taking a walk on a sunny day, with someone you love. :lurv:

My daughter, crawling into my lap to be my "snugglebunny."

making it to a destination safely

A good game, with some good friends. :)

Afternoon baseball game. :)

Knowing that I won't be leaving this time.
