27F under cloudy skies. High today is suppose to reach 37F which will almost feel like a heat wave. And, it's suppose to get even warmer over the weekend and next week. :)

Wondered why I was implicated in your winter wonderland.

Obama????

Cyclone Helen is now only 50 miles SW of here and will come a lot closer.

I expect power out in a few hours, so I'll hang in while I can.

www.bom.gov.au, go to the NT section, then radar.

She's gone past.

My hacienda's fine, but there are a lot of palm trees missing a frond or two, some African Mahogany trees pushed over ( they have the root systems of a stunted rose-bush, dangerous big things) and general minor chaos.

Power stayed up and the emergency kit's gone back in the cupboard.

:wish:

Glady to hear Helen's visit left you safe. :thumb:

Do you have any local pics?

dicksbro 01-05-2008 02:54 AM

OF ... Like PF, I'm glad to hear you're safe and sound and that the lady with an attitude has passed you by now. :boink:

36F here with some light rain. Only suppose to get up to 39F, so maybe I should get my swimming in now (2AM) and not wait until later .................................... nah.

PantyFanatic 01-05-2008 03:47 AM

Why not? The water isn't going to be stiff.

dicksbro 01-05-2008 06:11 AM

Well, by golly, yer' right PF. Temperature's dropped to 35F, but they've raised the predicted high to 42F today. Next three days should reach into the 50's. Doesn't sound like Illinois weather in January to me.

Some of Helen's poor housekeeping skills.

WOW! Looks like Helen gave you the kind of blow job you DIDN'T need.

No. 9 sure showed the scale of some of those trees.

No. 5 looked like it could be saved if it's brough up soon enough and tied off for a couple years :wish:

Oldfart 01-06-2008 03:39 AM

The scary part is that Cyclones (and Hurricanes) are graded cat1-cat5. Helen was only just out of the kitten stage.

dicksbro 01-06-2008 04:20 AM

Seeing the pictures makes me even more glad that you two are okay. Looks like Helen really did a number on you. Just stay safe!

Here, it's 47F right now. Man, that'd be a great January high ... but today it's suppose to climb up to 60F and tomorrow 68F!!!! Can you believe that? We are suppose to get some showers today and maybe some thunderstorms tomorrow. As long as it's nothing too severe, I guess that's a small price for the warmth.

sodaklostsoul 01-06-2008 07:14 AM

Helen should be fired for leaving all that clutter around.
Glad you and the Mrs. are ok.

We got 43 right now with a high of 48. Monday and Tuesday suppose to be in the 50's and of course chance of rain.
