Pictures of Central Illinois Today
1 Attachment(s)
Wife and I went out for ride this morning and took pictures of some of the surrounding country. Always think of Illinois as flat and filled with corn. True, but there are images of beauty and peace as well ...
Maybe I can share a few with you. |

Dicksbro---You talk about;flat land.I have some pictures;saved for
the memories;that were taken;out of car windows(circa 1962)I went to technical school;in Witchita Falls,(sp)Texas. My friends and I would;often;drive to Lawton,Oklahoma;on weekend nights.(After getting drunk;at the Airmans Club)The pictures;were taken; between the base and Lawton.(Going accross the Red River, etc.) You can't see;one rise in the altitude.About the only time that I saw;anything rise there;was in;what we called the Badlands and in my pants. dicksbro those are some nice shots, sure looks like Iowa..
Guess a lot of that area back there looks that way, I sure like it. |
Irish ... :D LOL :D... been through Oklahoma and Texas and know what you mean. There are some pretty flat bare areas in OK and TX.
M45 ... Thanks. I think from Indiana through Iowa you see a lot of country like these pictures show. Tried to find some a little more interesting than corn or bean fields, though. |
dicksbro, beautiful pictures. thanks
|
dicksbro, thank you, your pictures are also very beautiful. I must agree with you about Washington state, it is so diverse that you can see almost anything you want to within a couple hours.

Skipthisone and Nikki, those are really nice pictures. I love mountains and rolling country, but there's something very peaceful and serene about fields of grain stretching out to the horizon. I think the water lapping the shore has a similar effect.
Thanks! You two are good! |
