#645~The United States Post Office Department, in cooperation with the War Department, began airmail service between New York City and Washington, D.C. on May 15th in 1918. A year later the first airmail was service was established between Chicago and Cleveland. Transcontinental airmail began in 1921--it took 33 hours.

Whomever had 172 and 182 were both Cessnas. 707 was the first Boeing with a 700 designator. There were also 717s (though short lived), 727s, 737s, and the more famous 747s, 757s, 767s and the newest, the 777s. #648 |
