I use a 1/3 of a tank round trip to work right now. :(

Scarecrow 05-18-2007 10:21 PM

Price jumped from $3.29g to $3.49g today.

Went from $3.18 to $3.24/gal at Wally World. Their station is closing 6/12th. Others tend to be a nickel to dime higher.

$3.05/gal is about as low as I have found here.

My daughter just returned from SoCal where it was $3.67/gal the week before last.

Ever wonder why the price of gasoline / petrol changes as much as is does over relatively brief - 12 month or so – intervals?

jseal 05-19-2007 10:41 AM

Yesterday afternoon I filled the tank at $3.059/gal > $50 (see above)

Today I drove past the same station - $3.039! :(

cherrypie7788 05-19-2007 11:51 AM

We paid $3.22 last night for premium :( It was $48.32 to fill the tank. It's highway robbery.

IowaMan 05-20-2007 05:36 PM

$3.29/gal. for the cheap stuff in Des Moines this morning.

sodaklostsoul 05-20-2007 05:46 PM

Yesterday it was down at least from the other day to $3.34.

dicksbro 05-20-2007 05:52 PM

$3.26 is what I saw yesterday ... not sure about today. Too dang much, that's for sure. :(

IowaMan 05-26-2007 07:37 AM

$3.25/gal. yesterday but since I didn't need to fill up I'm sure it will be around $3.40 when I do have to top it off.

jay-t 05-26-2007 08:26 AM

gas dropped alittle here from $3.24 to $3.13

I think I found the reason for the gas prices going up so much ...

A lot of folks can't understand how we came to have an oil shortage here in our country.

Well, there's a very simple answer. Nobody bothered to check the oil. We just didn't know we were getting low.

The reason for that is purely geographical.

Our OIL is located in

Alaska
California
Coastal Florida
Coastal Louisiana
Kansas
Oklahoma
Pennsylvania

and

Texas

Our DIPSTICKS are located in Washington, DC :(

Amazingly, while prices climbed throughout the country in the past two weeks, they held steady here. I can't for the life of me figure out why. The prices had been right around 3.23 consistently. I kept meaning to fill up before the holiday weekend price gauging, but forgot. I filled up last night at 3.19. Amazing a price drop on a holiday weekend?
