This is a prime example of why we have consistently had trouble when threads like this have been posted.

Some peole are incapable of hearing other's opinions with out getting angry.

This thread has been a simple and appropriate exchange of ideas but yet someone is beginning to take it personally because they do not feel their ideas are being validated or that they are convincing others.

I commend everyone for staying polite and expressing their views so eloquently.

Was thinking that the US should send pics of Jenna's av in the emails they are sending to the Iraqi millitary leaders.:D

Scarecrow 03-19-2003 05:11 PM

Lilith just send the E-Mail of Jenna's butt to our soldiers, the Iraqi soldiers are already surrendering and the war has not started.

No matter what.....to many innocent lives will be lost, and all i can say is i hope its over quick and i really liked what celticangel said in the beginning of the thread.

BIBI 03-19-2003 06:06 PM

I have strong opinions on most topics of discussion. It does not mean that I am right in those opinions but nontheless they are mine and if someone else doesn't adopt my beliefs and ideas on a topic......then that means they are sticking to their opinions. It does not make one more right than the other, but what it does do at times is make one think long and hard and hopefully at the very least understand and respect another's right to uphold their beliefs without the fear of retaliation. I may not agree with someone's thoughts on a topic but I do try to give the same courtesy to them as I expect in return.

As someone else said in this thread "Can't we just agree to disagree?" I think this thread was supposed to be a debate not a war of words ending in anger and hurt.......

I shall step down off the soapbox now! BIBI has left the building!:)

I am in total agreement w/you, divot109 and celticangel.

Saddam's regime makes the old Eastern Block governments look like a picnic. This is a justifiable war of independence and liberation.

I know that there are murky issues of oil and power at play, but I would rather that my children grow up in a world with a community that does not tolerate such regimes as this.

The French are being as opportunist as they were in your "war" of independence - I would care to differ on some of your historical interpretation - perhaps another time.

At the moment my thoughts are with the long suffering people of Iraq and our Forces who have this regrettable but proper job to do.

Lilith,

Do you think that that is reason enough to not have these threads?

No I don't think that *that* is reason to not have this type of threads but I think people need to be aware when their attitude may be contributing to a thread "heading south". It is rarely 1 post that causes the cessation of civility.

When people are respectful and tolerant of one another's views we end up with a lovely discussion, like exampled in several current threads.

This sex forum is an international community, a "playground" to some, an escape from reality for others, a family (albeit perverted:p) to some, or just a website to others and I try to keep that in mind when making decisions.

Vigil 03-21-2003 12:19 AM

And whilst I have the greatest of respect for those decisions - I would still like to smack your bottom.

jseal 03-21-2003 06:08 AM

Woah! Sonds like a Kodak moment to me!

Lilith 03-21-2003 07:28 AM

Vigil~ you better bring along someone to help you ;)

jseal 03-21-2003 08:20 AM

Perhaps I'll use a Zoom lens at a safe distance.

Vigil 03-21-2003 09:36 AM

Sweet Lil - I'll try diplomacy first, perhaps a picture to let you know what you will be up against. This is vigil resolution 1441.

You will have a short period to be totally disarmed. If you do not adhere to the terms of this resolution, I will be at liberty to use all necessary means.
