I've had a persistently swollen lymph node in my neck for about two months now. Saw my Dr the week before last, and he's referred me (urgently) for further tests in hospital.

I go in on Wednesday morning, and hopefully will get whatever news there is by tea-time.

Cranky is not the word - but it'll do for now!

You've got our prayers going for you, DM. Keep the spirits up and keep us posted.

Thank you kindly, DB.

Well, saw the consultant otolaryngologist (I don't know either!!) today, and had an endoscopic camera down my throat (yeuch), the lump palpated from inside and out simultaneously (ouch!), an ultrasound and a Fine Needle Aspiration (nippy).

All of which culminated in "It doesn't look quite right", an instruction to attend tomorrow for pre-operative assessment (for general anaesthetic purposes, I believe), prior to a biopsy and unilateral (left side) tonsillectomy next Tuesday.

Now, he says he doesn't know yet what is going on, but when talking to the lab about my ultrasound/aspiration results, he wrote down "mets" on his crib sheet....... now even as a mental health nurse, I know that ain't good!!

So I guess I'll have to wait and see what next week brings...... fingers crossed, eh?! :)

I'm prayin' for ya, DM!

Good luck with that.
Vegemite withdrawal didn't work for them in La Brea.

Oldfart 05-20-2009 08:25 PM

That's only because the Americans couldn't get the formula right.

Jax 05-21-2009 10:09 PM

I'm crabby. Had a lousy day at work. And thrilled to know that for today (and maybe only for today I hope) my ability to take criticism needs work.

dicksbro 05-22-2009 04:35 AM

Feel pretty good today. Healing around the incision is still a bit touchy, but with the pain medicine it's under control. Be glad though when I don't need it any longer (pain medicine) because then I should be able to start driving again. :wish:

Oldfart 05-23-2009 08:26 PM

Not quite hung over, I went to the Bass in the Grass concert last night.

Sick of doing lines.

Line up for the grog, line up for the toilets, line up for . . .

pinkFlames 05-24-2009 06:55 AM

Okay, if not for headaches caused by naughty children.

Rhiannon 05-24-2009 08:34 AM

ShadowDancer 05-24-2009 09:19 AM

UGH..tired. My almost 2 yr old has decided it's necessary to sleep BETWEEN Mommy & Daddy instead of her own bed for the past week! I HOPE and :wish: that it's only because she's cutting 6 teeth at one time!

themi01 05-24-2009 01:09 PM

lizzardbits 06-22-2012 02:31 AM

Oldfart 06-22-2012 07:28 AM

M's suggested the same thing, just with her, not you. LOL

sodaklostsoul 06-23-2012 04:11 AM

Tired, too hot in here to sleep, which goes along with noise from everyone else.

I actually feel pretty good this morning. This afternoon, I will get a PET Scan done. Last CT Scan showed a small nodule on one of my lungs and they want to check it out and determine a course of action. My cancer doctor will then meet with me Thursday and we'll talk about what happens next.

Not to worry ... it's very small and very early in the detection process ( ... "about as small as it can be and still be detected" ... was how the doctor put it. Will keep you posted on Thursday.

I'm fine, but you might keep my wife and our kids in your thoughts/prayers. I think they're more concerned than me. :)

Thanks, soda! :x:

gekkogecko 06-26-2012 01:37 PM

Unsure. I had this weird feeling yesterday wherein I had sudden difficulty breathing, but it didn't feel like one of my more normal asthma attacks. Then I got momentarily weak, and I had what felt like a bubbling sensation in my chest. I have a doctor's appointment about it tomorrow, though.

Lord Snow 06-26-2012 02:34 PM

The bubbling doesn't sound good, but it kind of sounds like a mild panic attack. Hope it all checks out okay.

Oldfart 06-26-2012 06:15 PM

It's what you get from snorting Coke Zero.

STOP IT!

Lilith 06-27-2012 07:58 AM

Crazy turned on. I have spent the morning looking at sexy rope bondage pics.

Lord Snow 06-27-2012 08:10 AM

There is a an actual Japanese form of bondage where it's not just about tying up your partner or what knots you use, but how pretty it is.

pinkFlames 06-27-2012 08:53 AM

Tired and headachey
