I agree with the method of testing griddle tempature. Mostly I will use droplets of water, however, especially if I have dinner guests.
As far as detecting cold goes...What I was actually refering to is for instance you were sitting in a chair watching tv and all of a sudden you felt a chill come over your whole body for a few seconds, and then it's gone. |

Which do you mean?

Spit, thermisters or ants?;) |
well, I guess I have used all three at one time or another, not that I actually put the ants on the griddle mind you. I do however agree that themistors would be the most accurate.

I'm curious about the "feeling a presence." I have felt -something- too, although not in a way I can explain with the standard five senses. My martial arts teacher described this as "reading people" and that you can have it with living people, too. Proximity is supposed to be a big factor. If this is so, then sex (to drag this thread back) is about as close as you can get.

We were doing a wiring and telecomunications job in the attic of the wharehouse, which also serves as The University of Alabama at Birmingham's (UAB) print shop, graphic design, and art departments.
The building is over 100 years old, with throwbacks, antique features, and forgotten features throughout. For example some of the "origional" wiring is still in place though not used, in one part of the basement there are two seperate out house style restrooms with "White only, and "Black only" on them. I was working there with several other guys and we all had strange experiences, several times a coworker would come into the room to ask what I needed, saying that I had called for them! I had several "Happenings" while I worked up there alone, To make a long story short I heard voices, kind of like a radio played at low volume and kind of off station, though I could make out that it was someone talking instead of music. I heard foot steps, several times that folowed me down hallways, and came from rooms that I knew positivly no one was in them. I heard footsteps walk down the hallway I was working next to and then stop right at the corner, when I leaned over to look down the hallway of course no one was there. And the most disturbing thing was when I was packing up to go home for the day I was walking down a long isle in the main attic area, when I noticed footsteps folowing me, figuring they would stop when I stoped like they had earlier I stoped. They didn't! So I went to walking,QUICKLY. I walked all the way through the attic with the footsteps following close behind, rounded the corner and ran smack into a cold spot! And I mean COLD! I could see my breath in front of my face, just like that kid in the "Sixth sense", and might I mention it was late May and there wasn't any airconditioning run in the attic. I dropped the ladder I was carrying, my toolbag, the blueprints, My tool pouch, and the box of devices I was carrying and didn't stop running till I hit the parking lot. Later I talked to the mainteneance guys and they had wondered amongst themselves how long it would take for us to see a spook having heard, felt, "them" for years. Haven't been back since. |
I am too!

And I’d like to “feel the presence” of Sharniqua, Lilith, xanne, lixchick jennaflower, sweetc0rn, DildoDiva, Harley Q and any other ghosty lady in our Pixie Villege.:p :p Copperhead Can I go get that tool bag and pouch?:D Quote:

Yes, I do.

Just found this thread.
Yes I do believe in ghost's. I had an experience with one back when I was in college. All I know is that it was one of the strangest experiences of my life. And for those of you who know of some of my college activities, I was STONE-cold sober on the night in question. (at least till the experience was over and I had gone "Elvis"- and left the building) |
When we perceive something at a subliminal level, not neccessarily supernatural, we mostly don't have the wiring in the brain to treat it dispassionately. The instinct that told us there was a leopard or lion nearby in the deep dark distant past, even if we couldn't see/hear/smell them is still with us. In the absence of these leopards or lions, our imaginations take over. I am a slave to my imagination.

I'm not sure if I'm a believer or not. There was one time where I honestly thought I saw some sort of dark, shadow-like form hovering in the corner of a room but I was barely awake and ............. I don't know. It's sort of neat though to think that maybe they do exist.

I believe. Not in ghosts but in spirits.

Go figure.. just the wierd shit that happens to me sometimes |
