I suspect that having a restriction on blood flow by occluding an organ would be detrimental within a short time. Blood circulates and oxygenates tissue to keep it healthy to my understanding.
Cutting off the flow for long periods of time cannot be beneficial.

I wonder if there is someone with medical qualifications that could give an informed opinion.

I go to the hardware store and buy a rubber gasket about 2" in diameter, and about 1/16" thick.
They sell for about $0.29 and work just like all the leather or metal ones. They have varying sizes that can fit anyone.

Sounds like an “O” ring is what your looking for. You’re right that they are available in infinite sizes including thickness. Seems the thicker would have less tendency to cut.:( They’re sized by ID and OD. The greater the difference, the thicker the ring. ;)

As the former husband of an ER nurse, I can fill y'all in on the medical pros and cons of cockrings.

For the few of you who are interested, a cock ring works by supplanting or replacing the natural function of the penile sphincter, a donut shaped muscle that tightens around the veins to reduce, but not halt, the flow of blood OUT of the penis. Pros:
