Just been goofing around inside today since church this morning and breakfast with friends afterwards. The temps have been near 90 again and so going out didn't seem like a "fun" idea  .

Is this terrific or what with FWM posting today. Great to see you home again at Pixies.

Still at my girlfriend's place, but I'm about to leave for work.

So, even though my doctor said I could do that type of work, my body proved him wrong.

So, it's off to get an disability lawyer and go that route, unfortunately.

Personal experience tells me that that is SOB (standard operational bullshit) for getting disability from the govt. Few years back, I went thru the same nightmare; about 2 1/2 yrs passed between initial claim being filed & winning my appeal, couple more months for the first check. At first I thought that they assume that if your disability can't be seen, it doesn't exist, but a cousin actually lost an arm in an auto accident, & she had to lawyer up as well  Really?!? These guys don't even see there's nothing there past the elbow?

Anyway, SF, here's hoping you have at least as much luck as I had (too late to wish you better luck :frown: ), but here's a happy thought for ya: if/when you do win your appeal, they have to pay you back pay from when they should have been paying before. Nice little lump sum to get.

Of course, it's gonna be 3 months till you read this, but hey...

Too many things to do and not enough hours in the day lately

Actually, not quite, scotzoidman. I needed to do some internet research, so I managed to get the use of a non-public computer for a while.

And it looks like the lawyers that I have are right on the ball, as they called me the same day I applied through their website, and then twice more since then to get my medical history and to inform me that they have definitely accepted my case (and gave me a case manager) as well as give me advice and let me know what I need to be doing until I can get a hearing with Disability

It's not much a big step in the right direction. From here it looks like you've had some decent news for once.

Lilith 08-15-2011 06:16 PM

school :(

Lord Snow 08-15-2011 07:30 PM

Funny how school brings a frown from adults as well as children.
