I'll be very interested to read the accident report, if the USAF ever releases it.

OTOH, a great landing is one where they can use the aircraft again.

The above landing was not a great one, IMO.

Trying to wrestle the "new" laptop into submission. Still having to use the old one, though.

Pacing around the apartment trying to figure out what to do with myself. And working.

Actually went for a walk at a park west of Peoria early this morning (7AM. Wasn't too bad out then, but, but the time I was done, it was really heating up. Now, it's back over 90F with high humidity. Feels hot just looking out the window. Tomorrow's heat index is predicted to reach 110F. This is getting hold. :(

Still working on the project I mentioned yesterday. Good news is, I've mostly got it; now, I jsut have to install all of the programs I backed up over the years.

A little more work and less pacing, you'll know what to do with yourself.

Pretty much the same place I was the last time I could chck in here, sitting at without internet (and going even mroe nuts without it) in pain trying to deal with the government to try and deal with my back problems

gekkogecko 08-03-2011 11:58 AM

SSDD, Shadowsfate?

shadowsfate 08-03-2011 04:18 PM

pretty much. The government thinks I'm too able to be considered disabled, my body tells me I'm to disabled to work. Constant round and round, and it sucks bad. Especially when I decided to ignore my body and go back to work, and had to quit after just 3 days (at only 4 hours each day, since it was only a part time) because it just made my back worse. So, even though my doctor said I could do that type of work, my body proved him wrong.

So, it's off to get an disability lawyer and go that route, unfortunately.

And, considering how often I can get to a computer that will allow me to check Pixies (for some strange reason, the local library frowns on visits to Pixies ), it'll probably be another 2-3 months before I get back here with any update.

Being without internet at home sucks badly :curse: :boohoo:

Crazy busy here...

Just to catch up. I would like to be here more than once a year. Friend in Ohio had a stint put in a main artery to her heart. 90% blocked. She's had no energy to clean or anything in her apartment. I flew up there for 2 weeks to take her for the surgery and to get her apartment in order. We took 67 bags of trash and boxes out of that little handicapped apartment. ALso took 3 large car loads to the Goodwill. She is doing beter now and can actually get some things done. What was left to do was the personal stuff that has to be taken piecemeal, etc...I'm not tooting my own horn, but she needed the help. I think I mentioned previously that my mom has cancer and now they think she might have Parkinson's too. She has gout in her left knee and is losing weight again. She's pretty much skin and bones now. Our older dog, the black lab/greyhound mix was just diagnosed with lymphoma and we started him on chemo this morning. We just got the news last night. We are already booked to go away for the weekend and the kennel we use is right around the corner from the vet. They both know each other and that works out great. Plus, he (dog) really likes the guy that runs the kennel. So he's comfortable and happy. Wolfdog is beside herself being there. Outdoors, 2 male turkeys within reach....(snack food). I had a mole removed from my back and am waiting to hear what the lab results are. Hub is looking forward to the weekend....HAM radio convention thing. When I was up in Ohio, I went 2 weeks without TV or the Internet. I have to tell you...I didn't miss it a bit. Clearing out her apartment cured me of clutter and wanting to buy things and all of that. I took 3 carloads to the goodwill and 2 loads up to the used bookstore. Well, that kind of catches up what I'm doing and where I've been. Kind of missed the give and take here. Ciao, all!
