Sleeping until just about an hour ago.

Back at work fulltime, and trying to get back into the swing of things. Not enough hours in the day at present

Oldfart 07-14-2011 08:22 PM

The funeral of a 27 year old friend of mine, gone in a car crash.

Lilith 07-14-2011 09:02 PM

Gone too soon. :( ((hugs))

dicksbro 07-15-2011 02:51 AM

Sorry to hear of your friend, OF. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your friend's loved ones.

Oldfart 07-15-2011 03:17 AM

Thanks all.

I've been having problems with my internet for the last week that I have finely figured out.

scotzoidman 07-15-2011 11:19 PM

Finding a dead body, attending the funeral, tending to a birthday.

Other than that, not much.

Lilith 07-15-2011 11:24 PM

Wow! Care to elaborate?

scotzoidman 07-15-2011 11:59 PM

Not sure, it's a long & not so happy tale. Prob do me good to get it out there tho, but maybe in another thread.

scotzoidman 07-16-2011 12:24 AM

After further review, why not.
Father in law decided to off himself, how he got to that point is more than I wanna bore anybody with. Suffice it to say that he had just moved into a house near us after almost 2 yrs in assisted care. Got a call from a relative who had been helping him out, unable to make contact. We dash over, find the doors unlocked, him & a bloody mess in the living room floor. An almost legible note nearby. Not a sight I'll soon forget.
Nearly 4 hrs of standing around answering questions for the cops, plus trying to calm little sister in denial. At the funeral, same sister shuns & pisses off entire family, since it's all about her.

Oh, & I had to arrange for wife's b-day gala 1 week after the funeral. Lotsa nice presents from her family...not. All things considered, she's handling it very well, & I've never been prouder of her. But it's gonna be an interesting next 12 months, as the estate grinds its way thru probate.

I never thought I'd be grateful for the fact that all my family is gone, & I don't have to deal with this crap any more.

That's too bad, Scotz. Wow. I'm so sorry. I'm glad your wife has you at her side to support her through this.

Oldfart 07-16-2011 02:02 AM

When you have "interesting" weeks, you go all out Scotz.

Watch the wife, cos handling something like this is superficial until the dust settles.

Are you OK?

dicksbro 07-16-2011 04:20 AM

Scotz, what can a person say? Sounds like you and your wife have had more than your fair share to deal with. Just know you've always got us thinking of you and praying for you and yours. Just take care let us know if we can be of any help.

Lilith 07-16-2011 06:29 AM

(((hugs))) Scotz. I often think how hard it must have been for the person who found James.

You are a good husband. Your wife and her family are lucky to have you.
