Your thoughts are in line with mine.

Zoos feed more worthy mouths than the Red Cross most of the time.
Oh I know I'm going to hear about that one. :doorpeek: |
Actually, I might have to only disagree in regards to scale: instead of "most of the time" I would say "in a few cases."
Besides a few of the animals ... some of the time might be slightly closer to PF's comment.
Cogent analysis there, DB.

Dankeschön

English, please.
"Frankfurter" is both an English and a German word.
Gesundheit (Bless You) has become almost an English word after someone sneezes.
However, English has a whole wide range of words directly adopted from other languages.
I agree with that ^^^^!
My favorite hasn't yet ... it's the Japanese words for Happy New Year ... "akemashite omedetô gozaimasu" |
Japanese is one language I don't understand at all.
Khoekhoe is such an obscure language to me, I had to look up which of the world's people speak it (spoken in Namibia, South Africa & Botswana, BTW.)
Latin is a more familiar although I can't really speak it.
Mandarin is a group of Chinese (Sinitic) dialects that are natively spoken across most of northern and southwestern China. I know of it but again, don't speak it.
Norwegian is a mighty good language ya know. Yep, for sure it is.
Only about 21-22% of Americans speak a non-English language at home (according to: https://preply.com/en/blog/bilingua...ry%205%20adults.)
People seem to generally learn to ordinarily speak the language most often heard in their neighborhood, state or nation.
Quite interesting, isn't it?
Relative to more everyday conversations, I'd have to agree with you, it is interesting.
So many things to talk about...
Tempting subjects all around.
Unfortunately, there have been few posts lately.
Very busy recently ...
But the school year is ending and my wife who works at a grade school in Before and After Care doesn't drive anymore (vision problems) so I'm her "Uber Driver." I take her in the morning; pick her up and then repeat the process in the afternoon. This is her 30th year and she may return next year. Some of the kids she had years ago now married and have children who she cares for. She does have 4 helpers I lady and 3 high school girls in the afternoon. Plus yard work, two grown kids living at home, church and staying in contact with friends and relations. |
When that kind of stuff happens, it's still a fulfilling life.

xerosis of the eye may be alleviated with artificial tears
Your eyes, however, might be dry due to a variety of causes.
zombies need not worry about eye or other health-related issues
Although it's really insulting when a Zombie, hungry for brains, just passes you by.
but, perhaps, that's for the best - human-wise anyway...?
Could be, but if zombies only go after the smart people, it lowers the average intelligence of humanity.
Don't know much about zombies, thankfully.
Entertainment for zombies is more than just brain-eating, you should know.
for example, zombies also excel at teeth gnashing
Ghosts can also be frightening.
However, they seldom pose an actual threat.
I still prefer that they leave me alone.
Just hire a necromancer if the ghosts don't leave you alone.
Kind of a spooky topic isn't it?
Levity still has a place in it, though.
