A SECONDARY school teacher who posed nude for two of Australia's biggest-selling men's magazines has been moved to another school after students scanned her naked picture and posted it on school noticeboards.
The teacher, 30, who was working at Lockyer District High School in Gatton, sent nude photos of herself to the magazines.
She appeared as an Ozgirl, under the name 'Gerry', in a July issue of the weekly People magazine She also appeared under the pseudonym 'Gina' as one of 19 nude Home Girls and answered graphic sex questions in Picture, Australia's biggest selling weekly men's magazine.
The Picture home girls editor James Lang said the section allowed girls to appear in the magazine if they were willing to take their clothes off.
"They are ordinary girls. We see them as heroes. We are not allowed to print anything too raunchy. There's no graphic depiction of genitalia," he said.
Lockyer District principal Gary Adcock said the teacher had been replaced and Education Queensland was investigating the matter.
"The matter is currently being reviewed by the department and until the matter is resolved the department is not in a position to make further comment," an Education Queensland spokesman said.
Civil Liberties spokesman Terry O'Gorman said the investigation would have to determine whether the teacher had breached the moral standards and responsibilities expected of teachers.
"The risk is that wherever she goes the magazine articles will catch up with her. It could arguably be that she had a lapse of judgment, which shouldn't cripple her career. But she would be hard-pressed to get a job in a private school," he said.
