This pic was taken down by the harbour here in my hometown back in early January. It was freezing cold that day, but at the same time so unbelieveably beautiful...so I took a couple of pics... and then I hurried back to my warm car. :)

Thank you so much, all of you, for showing me parts of the world, I have never visited - everything is so different from here , that I am just about lapping it all up...*lol*
Well, as you know, I live in Barcelona (Spain) and for me it is the most beautiful city in Europe. Barcelona is very modern and at the same time very old. The architecture of Gaudí is incredible...lets start with him... here is the entrance of his "Parc Guell"
Anaiss

Wonderful pictures everyone. I can't wait till I get back home to my own pc so I can share with you as well. Though my corner looks just like the very 1st pic posted, just no palm trees around here, but lots of rock cliffs and bluffs.
Christine that is a wonderful photo, love the still water and the snow, almost looks like a black and white and I bet it would look great as a B&W....

Thanks, MidnightKiss!! And you're certainly right about one thing. It really IS little!! That's one reason we're hoping to move out to Murphy, jennaflower, and your part of the country. Hoping to find something in the Ozarks, not terribly far from Branson. We just completely fell in love with the area and are dying to go back!

Launceston Tasmania. I live in Launceston, Australia's 3rd oldest city, circa 1806. This gorge is only five minutes from the City centre. A natural amphitheatre. You can see a suspension bridge over the South Esk river. The huge floods of 1929 washed the previous structure away. The basin is very deep and cold. water temp can be as low as 8 degrees C
It is a very popular swimming area in the summer and the grounds have many old trees from many countires. There is a huge american redwood growing there.

dicksbro---What kind of camera;do you use?Many people;take beautiful pictures;but I am always impressed by the contrast&sharpness of yours.We have a nice EVERYDAY camera;
but it is not computer compatable.Eventually;we will have to get another camera so that I can send in some pictures!Threads like this and it's really bothersome.Right now the money is more important;for my autistic grandsons diet! The only way that I can send pictures now;is if my oldest daughter;takes them;with her camera;and I forward them to someones private e-mail addy!
The only thing that I know about photography;is point & shoot!
You really have to be selective;on what your daughter;takes pictures of.Thanks! Irish
P.S.It might not;just be the camera;it might be your skill as a photographer.
dicksbro
08-27-2002, 07:36 AM
It's an older Sony Mavica. Does a good job if the lighting is good. Best resolution, though, is only 640x480.
You mentioned an autistic grandson. My brother-in-laws little boy is autistic, so I do understand. Such a shame. Good news is that he's got good parents that care a great deal.
Roy Rogers had a Downs Syndrome child he adopted and once said, it's amazing the love you gain from helping a special child. I think he was right.
Irish
08-27-2002, 08:07 AM
dicksbro---As with anything else;I never thought about autism;until;it touched my family. My youngest daughter;got divorced;and her ex;as far as I'm concerned;doesn't help her enough financially!I don't understand it;because;it's his kid too.
I wanted to kick his ass;but my daughter and wife asked me not
to.It wouldn't prove anything;except to me.I have been arrested
;for aggravated assault;before and the jail time;would be worth the satisfaction.I have a wierd view on life;but I'm not going to
change it now.Everything;in life;has consequesces. Irish
P.S.He was an Army Ranger(Airborne);so it would be a good
challange. He tought hand to hand combat;but that's not street
fighting!

Here's some info about the last picture:
"Located between Washington and Columbia Streets on Sixth Street.
Test your driving skills on what Ripley's Believe It Or Not calls the "Crookedest Street in the World." Perhaps Burlington's most famous landmark, Snake Alley consists of five half-curves and two quarter-curves and drops 58 feet over a distance of 275 feet. The street is reminiscent of vineyard paths in France and Germany."

Here's a favorite piece of my college town... Albany, NY.

Here's a bit of my surroundings. The beach looks totally different since Hurricane Ivan tho...but you can still see the beauty.
And I attached a picture of my house too.

Finally remembered to take a picture of the front of our humble little abode. :)
Your home looks almost exactly like my great-grandmother's house, which I visited every week when I was a child. There was a lot of love in that home!
Oh ~ her shutters were blue. Can you paint oyurs, please? :p :D

hey guys
I never saw this post, glad for the bump!
The first pic is night time in my backyard in eastern PA..where I used to live
second one is something you all will surely know...it's basically in my backyard, I see it everyday driving around this area
third is some pics of an arboretum I volunteered in over the summer- in good ol' jersey :p

Only if you promise to show up some weekend, paintbrush in hand. ;)
It's actually a little bigger than it looks--4 bedrooms, 1 bath, full, unfinished basement. The garage is out back. :)

Took this one just a little while back. I was surprised that I was able to get it with my Mavica ... since they don't have that great a resolution.
