Don't really know that it's better, but we've used K-Y Gel for a long time.

My preference is saliva, but when that runs out KY is very handy ;)

KY is sold almost everywhere, so is the easiest to acquire if the need so arises.
DO NOT USE PETROLEUM BASED PRODUCTS!!!
Medically speaking, they trap harmful bacteria, and if a slight internal tear should happen from over activity, well, those little bugs now have a real good chance to stay and multiply.

Petro products are bad on latex products....not sure about the polyurethanes...

we use our tongues for initial lubrication, and her juices after that :D .
(for anal, her juices. [NO lubrication was ever needed])

my previous gf. used ky, but it tends to ... dry out after 3-4 hours and she gets pretty insensitive too.

We use KY for anal play. It's the easiest lube to get around these parts. Like many pixies ladies, I don't really have the need for it otherwise! But, since I'm new to anal play, I'm still a bit nervous and the more lube the better!

The last couple of ladies I have been with seem to produce enough of their own. But when we needed it, we used the K-Y liquid. Me perosnally, I prefer using a ladies natural lubricants as mucha s possible.

I've got to say, i'm dead against petrol products full stop.

I make my own moisturisers etc, so that i can avoid petrol based stuff completely - it's become an almost obsessive compulsion to avoid petrol based stuff now!!!

I have very little need for lubricants, although i'll sometimes lick my finger before starting to stroke my clitoris (i have to confess that's partly because men seem to LOVE it if you do that in front of them!!!)

I think, that given the need for extra lubrication, i'd probably stick to one of my own formulations . . . sweet almond oil, coconut oil etc , etc . . . mmm!

KY
It's cheap, it works well for anal play, and easy to find anywhere.

my tongue :) usually gets her natural juices flowing. No need for a lubricant.

My own cum. For anal sex, usually I get fucked briefly in the pussy first, then my cum juices are used for anal lube.

For skip-pussy-let's-go-straight-to-anal, Adam & Eve's "Personal Lubricant Gel" is excellent. :)
